Exactly what I was looking for...

This does exactly what I hoped it would: it holds my phone securely and charges it at the same time, without having to use the USB port. I haven't hooked up the antenna yet (I get great reception in most places) but I presume it works as well as the rest of the unit. Highly recommended.

I recently this a cradle for my car to hold my BB Pearl. I love it.I have a vehicle bracket in my car for a phone cradle. All I had to doto install it was 4 screws (provided). The Pearl drops in and chargesin the cradle. It also has a place to attach an external antenna(included) to it. There is 1 wire coming out of the cradle and it goesto the CLA power port and the antenna attaches to it also near the CLA.This is the best after-market cradle I have seen for a phone.I have not hooked up the antenna yet to see if affects my reception any.It is way too hot for me to be taking my car apart because I am OCD onhow it all looks.I am thinking about ordering another one for my house.
