Product Description

Measuring cartridge lengths across the bullet tips is not a reliable (or repeatable) method for measuring you loaded rounds. It's common for variations of up to .025" to exist from one round to the next. Hornady's bullet comparator solves that problem by measuring rounds from a reliable surface on the bullet, the ogive, to provide consistent, precise measurements of your rounds. Hornady's Bullet Comparator attaches to the blade of your caliper with a thumbscrew and uses interchangeable insert bushings to measure from the bullet ogive. These bushings are available in fourteen sizes from .17 caliber to .45 caliber. This set comes with inserts for following bullet diameters, .172", .204", .224"(5.56mm), .243"(6mm), .257", .264, .277", .284"(7mm), .308"(7.62 & 8mm), .338", .358", .375", .416", .458"

4Essential for use of OAL gauge
By Tompharm
Comparator allows accurate measurement of secant ogive shaped bullets, the design used for modern very low drag (VLD) bullets. Very crudely put, these bullets taper continuously, as opposed to traditional tangent ogive bullets, so the nose is farther up the barrel when the bullet touches the lands. The overall measured OAL on cartridges made with these VLD, secant shaped bullets doesn't correlate well with the published max, which is based on tangent ogive shaped bullets. To get an accurate offset from the lands you need to determine the OAL using a bullet comparator. Like many hand loading tools, you will need to spend some time studying details of use and then fooling with it before it works well. Look at the videos posted on You-Tube. Bottom line, buy the bullet comparator if you use the Hornady OAL gauge.

4Great speakers
By shackf16
Added these when I upgraded my entire sound system in my 2003 Nissan Frontier. They fit perfectly, and were a definite improvement from the factory paper speakers. There were a limited number of 5-inch speakers on the market, and I was using Polk Audio 6.5-inch component speakers up front and figured I would stick with Polk for the back. After they were installed, I don't hear much of them due to the awesome sound from the front - plus the powered SUB. However, I' sure they make a big difference for those stuck in the back seat. I'm satisfied with them, and would buy them again.

5Just right...
By Brian Curnutt
I always wanted to upgrade the stock system in my '92 Toyota 4Runner, which I bought used in 2004. Not a big deal to me though since I usually listen to talk radio. However, when I gave it to my son when he started driving, he immediately wanted to improve the sound quality. I went shopping on-line and found out the stock sizes for the front were 4" and the back side panels were 5 1/4".I found a great deal on the DB401s (refurb) and easily installed them in the OEM ported boxes in the front. I found that the original speakers had been replaced by Rockford Fosgate 3" speakers. They never sounded decent because they were too small and let the air leak out around them instead of going through the ported enclosures. The DB401s sounds SO much better, in spite of not having much bass due to their size (but a lot more than the others).I found another great deal on the DB521s for the back and only after I got one of the side panels pulled back did I realize the 5 1/4" speakers were too big. All three of the on-line sizing guides (one from a major audio retailer which shall remain nameless) were WRONG! I then found the DB501s, thankfully, since there are few that size to be found, and they fit perfectly. Again, the previous owner (or installer) had put in the wrong sized speakers. They were Infinity Kappa 4" that let the air leak around the enclosure. As soon as these were installed the bass deepened dramatically (for 5" speakers). A subwoofer would make a big difference in sound power, but my son doesn't care about blowing the windows out, thankfully. He just wants good, clean sound; and that's what we got! These speakers have a 93dB efficiency rating and I can tell they go much louder and cleaner than the previous speakers without clipping, even with the stock head unit. The lower 65Hz bass also is evident and very clean. With the new Kenwood HD radio we're putting in, I expect to be even more impressed with much crisper highs and more solid bass due to the higher power amp, all benefited by the high efficiency of these speakers. A separate amp would probably produce even better results, but we'll try this first. Now I want to drive it more often just to enjoy the sound improvement. VERY satisfied!!!7/24/11 - UPDATE: After putting in the Kenwood HD radio, I can tell you that the sound is dramatically better!!! It has enough wattage and headroom to push these speakers much louder, while still avoiding clipping (distortion). It is crystal clear in HD (I was stunned). It still doesn't have the powerful bass some would prefer, but in reality, it is strong enough and deep enough to provide accurate sound and surpising lows, beyond what you'd expect from 4" and 5" speakers. I always question myself on purchases, so I went looking again to be sure I did the best I could do on my budget. Confirmation: There aren't any other speakers in this price range that are as efficient as the Polks and the sound quality makes them that much better. When you know the power algorithm of "double the power for every 3db increase in sound", you realize that the efficiency of the speaker is much more important than the total wattage of the head unit and/or amp. I couldn't be more pleased with the Polks!

4Gold Wing install
By Firedog
I purchased 2 pairs of these speakers for replacement on a Honda Gold Wing touring motorcycle. The rear set is a new installation as the bike doesn't have factory rear speakers. WoW!! What a difference. I can tell a huge difference in sound quality already. The fronts will be replaced as soon as I get a chance. Money well spent. Excellent sound. Easy install.

5Solid, but yes it is not the lightest tripod.
By Glenn M. Rogers
OK, I spent many an hour searching overer the web for the best tripod at the "cheapest" price. I eventually settled on the Benro 198M8 tripod and ordered it up from Amazon. I was happy with the arrival of it up until the time I noticed that the rubber tip of one of the legs was rolling around in the bottom of the bag wrapping the tripod. It is what it is on that...I dont know why it was like that, but it appeared to have torn off somehow in the packaging or shipping. I still took a good look at it befoe sending it back, set it up, played with the features and just was not fully impressed. It was not bad, but is was nothing special. I sent it back and decided to spent the extra $$$ on the Giotto's 9360.Now that I have had a chance to work work the Giotto's tripod for about a week or so, I am very happy. I am 6ft tall, and after putting onthe Giotto's MH-5001 3-WAY pan head (roughly 5 inches high), I can use the tripod without extending the center column quite comfortably. Using a tripod with the column at it's lowest is more stable than if it is extended. I work on an ambulance at night, and this is where I do a lot of my photography, so the stability is wonderful for my extended shutter times. I am way more impressed than with the Benro product. There is a definate construction and quality differance notable on the two favoting the Giotto's.Now for the cons as described by reviewers on this and other sites.-Yes it is not the lightest tripod on the face of the planet. As a matter of fact, with the Giotto's MH-5001 head, it weighs in at 8.5 lbs in it's very nice carry carry bag that comes with it. I have it strapped onto the bottom of my "photography" backpack that I take with me hiking/walking for exercise. It does not bog me down that much, and I am no exercise guru at nearly 280lbs. If you are lookign fo ra light tripod, save your $$$ and go corbon fiber...period.-Twist lock legs. Sure the legs are twist lock, and not flip lock. I have flip locks on my monopod and like the speed, but really, how fast you need to set up your tripod anyway. The 1/8t twist on this model are just fine, and I really like the dust/water resistance that comes with the twist lock. I do a lot of hiking and playing around in less than ideal conditions, so this is a nice bonus. The included spiked feet are a nice thing also.-One reviewer mentioned that the "included 3-way head sucked". Sure it is not an Arca-Tech grade head. It is a RUDAMENTORY 3-way head. Let's imagine for a moment that your normal head died, was stolen, or carried off by a Dingo. You could make due with the capabilities of the tripod at the moment and not have to worry about scrapping the whole photo-op. It is a nice thoughtful feature.I would highly suggest this tripod to the person who is on a better than average budget, and isn't counting ounces when putting togeter his/her gear. For the $$$ this is one of the best setups you can get your hands on. Also it has WAY more range of use than the Manfrotto 055xpro serise. Definately compair, but you are getting more bang for your buck with the Giotto's.Per my father, "Better to curse the tool when you pay for it the first time, than when you have to pay to replace it later."

5Well built, versatile but heavy
By Wombat37
I've paired this with a Giottos MH-1301/MH-656 ball head and they are a good match for each other. The articulated center column mounting is great for positioning a camera at any height and any direction. This is really what made this tripod for me. I was looking at the Manfrotto Pro versions but they really don't have the versatility of this one. I use it a lot for close up work and it it gets the camera close to where you want it every time but it really does need a focusing rail to position the camera precisely for this type of work. This is a very nicely built tripod - the quality is excellent and it appears to be very rugged. That is probably its major problem - this is a heavy tripod so it's not suitable for mountain hikes etc. I think I would have prefered a lighter MT-9350 or even a MT-9340 but, although these are in the Giottos catalogue, they don't seem to be sold in the USA (but are available in Europe). The much more expensive carbon fiber and lava versions don't seem to be much lighter so I didn't see the point of paying twice the price for these. It its price, it comes with a nice carry bag, leg spikes, a short center column and 3 position leg angles for really low shots. I don't understand why a previous reviewer wants to use the tripod with the legs fully extended and at their widest position - the laws of physics just don't work that way.

5Solid support
By D. Longfellow
This is a solid tripod with a lot of versatility. The ability to swing the column to a horizontal position is very helpful for macros. The tripod is fairly heavy, but with the weight comes excellent performance. I'm pleased with the purchase.

5Quality press, backed up by great customer service
By D. Matheny
I started reloading just over 2 years ago and decided to go with this Hornady press instead of the Dillon 550B that I was also considering (and that my neighbor ended up buying). Originally, I was just loading 9mm in order to save money, but the reloading has become almost as fun a hobby as the shooting has:).There is so much to say about this press, both good as well as things to be careful for, that I'm going to break this review into sections and try to keep brief. Before getting into the details, let me just say this press was a great investment. Overall, it works great, is easy to use, and is backed up by the best customer support I've ever worked with. I've loaded well over 10,000 rounds on it at this point and couldn't be happier.*** Customer Support ***When I was starting out, I ended up breaking parts on the press two different times. On both occasions, I called Hornady tech support and talked immediately with someone who knew exactly what I was talking about. They didn't care that the breakages had been my fault and just stuck the replacement part in an envelope which I had in hand a couple of days later. The first time, when I broke an auto-indexing pawl, the support person actually threw a couple of extras in the envelope for me just in case it happened again (which it hasn't).In both cases, I had felt some unusual tension when pulling the handle; but I thought it was just a hard-to-resize shell. This machine has a lot of torque, so when things bind up it is easy to break something - now that doesn't happen anymore since I always stop and examine the machine when I feel anything unusual.I know that Dillon also has a reputation for great customer service, but it is hard to imagine that it could be any better than Hornady's - this is an area where there just aren't enough stars available.*** EZ-Ject system ***When I got my Hornady press, the EZ-Ject system wasn't available yet and it used a wire on station 5 to eject shells. This worked OK, but created several problems that I had to learn to live with.1) The ejection wasn't very reliable and about a third of the time I would either have to help the shell eject or the shell would get thrown several inches over the loaded round tray. After doing it enough I got used to it and manually helping shells eject became part of the reloading process.2) The ejection wire actually blocked station 5 from being usable with most dies which basically made this into a 4 station press (like the Dillon 550B).Once the EZ-Ject became available I upgraded and I can't even describe how much better it is. The ejection is flawless and I have full access to station 5. As a result, I've thrown in an extra powder check die on rifle rounds and I went with a dedicated crimp die for pistol rounds which makes the bullet seater easier to setup. My productivity has increased from about 200 rounds/hour of 9mm to 350 rounds - and I'm not moving any faster than I was before.I'm not sure if there are still LnL presses out there that don't have the EZ-Ject system, but make sure to verify that the one you buy has it! With EZ-Ject, this is a five star press; but prior to that I would have had to dock at least one star just for the crummy ejection.*** Changing calibers ***Originally, I just reloaded for 9mm so I didn't pay much attention to how easy it is to change calibers on the LnL. But, now I'm reloading for .308 and .223 as well and I've come to appreciate it:).Basically, you just leave each die setup in a bushing that swaps in and out easily so you don't have to mess with any of the expensive tool head stuff like Dillon uses. The bushings are inexepensive and incredibly easy to use. I also bought another dedicated powder dispenser, so I use one for rifle loads and the other for pistol. The powder dispenser itself also sits in one of the bushings so it is also very easy to swap out.I can completely change from reloading 9mm to .308 in less than five minutes following these steps:1) Swap out the shell plate2) Remove all the 9mm dies and the pistol powder dispenser by just twisting the bushings out - this does not require any tools3) Insert my .308 dies and rifle powder dispenser which are still setup from the last time I used them (although I always verify that)4) Swap out the small primer seater for the large seater (both are included with the press)5) Remove the remaining small pistol primers from the drop tube - not making a mess of this is probably the hardest step:)6) Install the large primer drop tube - once again, no tools are required for this stepI'm not sure how this could be easier, and it definitely deserves five stars.*** Discarded primers ***The tube on the Lock-n-Load press for routing discarded primers into the trash is a great setup. Instead of trying to aim it into a trash can at my feet, I drilled a hole in a water bottle lid and just ran the tube through the lid and into the water bottle. This keeps the discarded primers out of the way and makes them really easy to get rid of when I'm done reloading. In case that is hard to envision, the primer tube runs through the drilled hole in the water bottle lid and there is some tape wrapped around the tube so the lid won't slide off. Now I just screw the water bottle container on and off and it is a perfect little storage bin for discarded primers.*** Powder dispenser inserts ***First, if you will be reloading for pistol calibers, let me mention you are going to need to buy the handgun rotor and metering assembly to accurately dispense the smaller charges. If you will just be loading rifle rounds you can ignore that. Also, this next section may not make sense until you've actually spent some time playing with the powder dispenser. When I talk about the metering insert, I'm talking about the adjustable stem that inserts into the rotor to configure how much powder gets dropped into the load. When I bought the handgun rotor for mine; I saw the cool micrometer metering insert, so I went ahead and spent a few extra bucks to get it to replace the standard metering insert. This turned out to be somewhat of a waste of money for two reasons:1) It turns out that the standard metering inserts can be bought for 1/3 of the price of the micrometer version and they can be easily swapped out of the rotor - so now I just keep a metering insert marked for each load and I've found that is far more convenient and repeatable than remembering what number a load was on the micrometer.2) The micrometer insert got a layer of rust almost immediately, so I couldn't read the markings anyway. This rust appears on the dial head and it happened to two different units; although I take care to keep stuff oiled up - this is a part that just wants to rust.It takes a bit longer to setup a load with the standard inserts, but it is a time saver in the long run over the micrometer version.*** Auto indexing could be smoother ***When reloading small cases, the auto-indexing will sometimes shake a granule of powder out of the case and onto the shell plate. This is just something to be aware of (especially when the cases are fairly full), and I really haven't found a way to completely resolve it. One side-effect is that the loose granules can wind up getting stuck in the primer seater, which will prevent it from recessing completely and can bind the entire machine. This was actually the cause of my second broken part:).Anyway, I don't want to make it sound like powder will shake out of every case. Just be aware that it does happen so you will typically end up with half a dozen or so loose granules after loading a few hundred rounds. I keep my air compressor handy to keep the shell plate clean; which prevents anything from getting stuck in the primer seater. I also blow out the seater every month or so and put a drop of oil in there just to keep it moving smoothly.*** Hornady dies ***I know this isn't directly related to the press, but I figure I should throw in my findings on dies as well for people who are just getting started.Since I was buying the Hornady press and didn't really know what I was doing, I decided to play it safe and stuck with Hornady dies as well. Although they weren't bad, I always had little issues - especially with the depriming pin and the bullet seater; so I eventually swapped them out for some Redding dies. Let me just say, in my opinion, the Redding dies blow the Hornady dies out of the water. I've been incredibly impressed.[UPDATE 11/30/2010]Once again, I know this isn't directly related to the press, but feel free to read the comments posted under this review to see some of the issues I started having with the Redding 9mm sizing die that I recommended before. At this point, for 9mm, I'm using a Lee sizer die, Hornady expander die, Redding bullet seater die, and Redding crimp die. This seems to be a great combination - but I'm still irritated at the apparent drop in quality of the Redding dies. For other calibers (.223 & .308), I haven't had any problems with the Redding sizing dies.*** Conclusion ***My neighbor started a few weeks before me and went with the Dillon 550B for loading .45, so I have seen both presses in action - although I obviously understand the workings of the Hornady better. If you are considering one of these two presses, then I highly recommend the Hornady. I think the Hornady is a much better press than the Dillon, yet it costs less; both initially as well as each time you add a new caliber.

5Good press that is very consistent
By Troy S. Mitchell
I am a beginner re-loader. I went against the grain of common knowledge that you should start with a single stage press then move to a progressive press like this. I am glad I did because the amount I shoot it would take me forever to reload this on a single stage press. If you follow the instructions and watch the videos you should not have any problems whatsoever. Do yourself a favor and get a can of Hornady De-greaser and dry lube because you will need to clean the grease from the powder measure, primer mechanism and the area where the shell plate sits. After that you should be good to go.As far as performance, it is very consistent in the production of bullets. You can really crank out a lot of bullets in a hurry. I shot all mine today and had no problems whatsoever. Some other suggestions:--Get a good digital scale if you can afford it. It makes it much faster when you do your powder settings--Get a powder through expander die. This frees up a spot for a cop die (charge validator). It basically lets you know if you have put too much or too little powder in your shell.--Get a Cop die. (see above).--Have a good sturdy location to mount it. For me I use a saw horse with some C clamps to hold it down and that works good for me.So if you shoot a lot, get this press and get into it. You will save plenty of money and you will produce loads that are more accurate than factory loads.

4Great press.
By Norman Glitz
If you can walk & chew gum, you can run this press. No need to start with a single stage, especially if your goal is to make a lot of handgun ammo. Primers, like any press, need special attention. I've got well over 40k rounds of 45ACP through mine, as well as several thou of 38/357 and 44 maggies. The only thing that needed to be replaced was one of the little "mousetrap" springs; it actually wore through. That was around 25k rounds. Hmm, I should take a look at the one in there now. Loading .223 or .30-'06 is a little more involved, what with the larger powder charge (you actually need to WAIT for the .223 powder to run through the little hole), case lubing and the attention to the case neck and seating the tiny bullets.I've helped set up & run a few other brand presses. This one is the one to get.Norm

5Great Smell!
By Ron
I love the AOS sandalwood fragrance. It has a very manly smell and last a very long time. This is very strong. Spray a small amount or you will smell like you are trying too hard to be noticed. I sprayed too much on one day and it was overpowering for me. I can only imagine what others thought. I now hold the product about arms length from my face and then spray once IVO of my neck and face. I can still smell the product before I take my shower that night. I would purchase this again and highly reccomend it. I use the AOS Sandalwood shaving cream and aftershave balm. The cologne smells exactly like the shaving product. Go to a Art of Shave store in the mall and smell this stuff, it's great in my opinion. Hope this helps.

5A great scent
By Istari
I have been looking for a great smelling scent that would be considered very unique. All my friends got the usual Armani, Calvin klein, DG, or Yves Saint Laurent, while nice smelling was all too common. I wanted something different but at the same time a timeless scent that would yell out "That right there smells like A MAN!" and that it is what I got with this cologne. My experience with this product is that it is also a very heavy scent so you do not have to put too much on, just one spritz on your chest and right BELOW your neck and you are good to go. The fragrance lasts for hours and I still can smell it on my clothes the next day. I have yet to find a woman who has not liked smelling me when they are so close to me.Since you do not need to put too much on I have had the exact same bottle when I first purchased it back in Feb 2012 and I still have a lot left to go with it.Some advice to keep in mind: 1) do not spray this on your face or neck (if you have shaved) because it will burn, 2) what I recommend is to buy the Art of Shaving sandalwood shaving set where it smells just as great as the cologne and use that on the days you shave and spray once on your chest 3) the days you don't shave, spray once on your chest and just below your neck. It is pricey though, so please keep this in mind.

5Good Stuff - I'd recommend it.
By Steven C. Howell
This is an excellent cologne. If you like the scent of Sandalwood, this one's for you. I wanted something that was a complete Sandalwood scent and not mixed with citrus or other tones. The description on this page states: "Inviting aromas of sweet spices with a touch of herbs dance with woody undertones in The Art of Shaving Eau de Toilette - Sandalwood". After contacting the manufacturer for the ingredient list, they informed me that the composition of the product is alcohol, essential Sandalwood oil and water. Nothing else.It smells great but it's very strong, so go easy with it. My assumption is that the strength of the scent comes from not being cut with other scents to tone it down. It can be overpowering if you use too much. This is referenced by the product description on this page as well "When the custom blend of Sandalwood Essential Oil becomes warmed by the skin, the scent intensifies.." It's not stated on the page but it comes in a spray bottle. On the plus side, by being able to apply less, you'll save money by not having to reorder so quickly. As a side note: We know that every person's body chemistry is different, so each person will reflect a slightly different tone when wearing it. Even though it's a men's cologne, some women may like the scent. If it's applied lightly enough, I think it could be very nice on a woman as well.

By H. C.
This is a very stable tripod. It is fairly heavy but thats a small price to pay for a tripod this sturdy.

5Black Powder Lock N load Powder Measure
By P. Argento
This powder measure along with the Hornady case activated powder drop are a must for all Cowboy Shooters who want to shoot black powder. I used a Lyman for some time. It dispensed powder fine, but the flip of the handle added one more step in the reloading process. That's not why I bought a progressive loader.Ah, but with my new Hornady Lock N Load, I just load the brass, drop in the bullet, and pull the handle. Now my black powder 45 Long Colts are consistent as always and made in almost half the time. If you load more than 50 black powder rounds at a time, this is a must.

This charm is nice. It's smaller than i thought it would be but still looks good on a thin necklace. It didn't work well with a rope chain.

5Zone-In is Essential
By LoMac
This is by far the best pitching aid on the market. We have been using it for four years and it has taken all the wear and tear we could give it. We use it for baseball and softball pitching (even a little hockey shooting practice. This is a must have for anyone interested in pitching. It's a little expensive but if a few pitcher's parents throw in (no pun intended) together it can be affordable. It's well worth the money and it's VERY durable.

5Excellent dies
By T. Scott Wellman
I bought this set several years ago to reload for my .480 Ruger Encore pistol. The craftsmanship is excellent and have provided hundreds of rounds of .480 Ruger. I really like the taper crimp die for loading for my single shot pistol. Excellent product!

3not bad
By toriphile13
I bought this to quilt my first quilt which happened to be a queen size. I didn't realize how over my head this project was. I wasn't going to splurge on a $200 hoop, but I should have. This hoop is definitely worth the price. I can make due, but I have to readjust often. If I was quilting a lighter in weight project, I would have absolutely no problem. I am still happy with the purchase, and I'm still shopping for a sturdier hoop.

5Quite happy with this hoop
By Ruthie C
I received this quilt hoop a few days ago and have been using it ever since. Putting it together was fairly easy. This one is an 18" hoop whereas my regular hand held hoop was 14" so it gives me more work space and I don't have to shift the quilt as often. It was always a struggle to quilt in my old hoop due to trying to balance it on my left arm and feel for the needle on the underside. I often dropped the hoop or my stitches were irregular due to movement. This Edmunds hoop is a dream come true. I have been able to quilt faster because my work area doesn't wobble, the stitches are straighter, and both hands are free. I had been worried about being able to turn the hoop in the direction I needed--I quilt toward myself--and that is why I always needed a hoop instead of a floor frame. The Edmunds does move up and down and can be turned side to side so I can get to most sections. The only drawback is the curved support bar for the bottom hoop. It does get in the way of my left arm once in a while but I think that problem can be resolved by how the quilt is loaded into the hoop in relation to the area to be quilted. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the Edmunds and would recommend it to anyone.

5Wonderful product, awesome retailer
By Susie Homemaker
It took a long time for me to receive my product due to a simple clerical error on the part of the retailer, but I am so impressed with [...]. The owner took responsibility for the error, didn't make excuses or blame the error on someone else and she quickly made it right, even refunding my shipping charges. This was such a refreshingly positive experience with customer service - and I mean true customer service-, that I felt very good about the purchase even though I had to wait a longer time than normal for my product. Everything else I have ordered from this company through Amazon.com has come extremely fast, in fact, much faster than expected. I will definitely order from them again. The product is everything I had hoped for, just as advertised and is well worth the money if you are serious about needlework. I am using mine for hand-quilting and hope to use it soon for doing hand applique. I like the way it adjusts in just about any position I might need it to go. I also like the fact that it is the right size to use just the hoop, without the stand for lapquilting. Buy the product, you will be pleased with it.

5Solid as a rock
By Ole fart
Received this a couple days ago and have taken it out twice already..both times in stiff breezes..strong enough to blow my hat off.. Had a sizable load in my D300 with the 80-400 VR lens using the Kirk tripod collar replacing the collar the lens comes with. The tripod performed excellently..only slight vibration during the strongest gusts..Didn't lose a single shot and had the VR off the entire time..I bought this for handling heavier than normal loads and it did better than expected..Only one weakness...the center column doesn't serve horizontally for macro photography..Part of me wishes I'd bought theMT-9371 but beyond happy with this..I rarely shoot Macro. So not a huge minus

4So far, so good
By James Bass
This has been a reliable tripod for the two months I've had it. But time is the true test. It's heavy, which is what I wanted, because it is stable. No news is good news.

5Perfect studio tripod
By LovelyHead
The usual advice when buying a tripod is to consider three things - stability, portability and affordability - and then to choose any two of them. If you're considering the MT 9271, the two you have chosen are stability and affordability. The MT 9271 is big, even when folded, and heavy, 7.5 pounds with a decent head. It's a tripod to take with you on a planned shoot rather than a casual hike. Either that or it will be your studio tripod, as it is for me. In either case, you will probably want a second, less substantial tripod to use when travelling light. The payback for that bulk is stability and the MT 9271 is possibly Giotto's best in that regard (there is an even bigger MT 9281 but it isn't available anywhere). The 9271's legs have only three sections (the fewer the better) and twist locks. It might just be my imagination but twist locks somehow feel sturdier to me than lever locks. Finally, if you're after maximum rigidity, you'll know not to use the centre column on any tripod and you won't need to with this one. I'm 6 feet 3", yet this tripod - with legs fully extended and an MH 1300 ball head on top - places the camera a few inches above my eye level with the centre column down.Build quality is flawless. I've never owned a Gitzo but it's hard to imagine how Gitzo's quality could be any better than this. All in all, the MT 9271 is a great tripod, as long as its bulk suits your purposes.

5Great for Realtors
By Richard L. Daskam
I searched several stores in town as well as on line and this is the only camera I could find with a wide-angle for interior pictures of homes. The 28mm really widens the shot for small rooms as well as gives a lot of options for the larger rooms.I highly recommend this camera for Realtors & Appraisers.
