Nice Battery Charger

I bought a RTF RC jet online that came with the Li-Poly batteries and charger. The charger stopped working within 2 days, so I decided to purchase a good charger that would last. I purchased this one and have been pleased since. A few notes, it is smaller than you think. I was expecting something about the size of a book, but in reality, it is not much larger than the battery packs you are charging. Also, the output cord that it comes with has only the JST connector, if you need to charge any other type of battery (in my case, the Dean connector), you need to by the adapter cord for it. I ended up getting the octopus cord that includes the various types of chargers and it works perfectly. The charger itself works pretty easily. You click the buttons for the various current charge (amps) and voltage charge (cells) and press the start button. It goes through a series of checks on the batteries to ensure that they are correct. I had problems with my batteries because they had been discharged to too low a voltage. I got several error messages but with each successive mini charge (30 seconds- 1 minute), the voltage came back up and was able to charge the batteries back to full health. I charged a 4 cell, 2200 mAh battery in 1 hour and 15 minutes. When charging, the pack blinks a slow yellow light on the current readout, letting you know it is charging at a constant current that you selected. After about an hour, in my case, it switches to a slow blinking red light letting you know that it is charging at a constant voltage for about another 10-15 minutes. When you battery is done, a green light flashes and an audible tone sounds. I bought this kit that includes the AC adaptor, as I prefer to charge via AC voltage vs. hooking it up to a car or battery. I think this gives you more reliable current and voltage. Some of the things that I would have preferred on this product to get 5 stars: Maybe a little beefier construction, no offense and I am sure that this is well constructed, but when I spend about $80 on something, I was hoping for something a little more substantial. Also, I would like for the octopus cord to be a standard part of the kit, even if it costs a few $ more. Overall, a good product that does what I was wanting to do. Highly recommend.

Excellent meld of trains & tile laying game

Thinks of a combination of Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne and Tsuro and you'll have an idea of this game. Here u lay tiles like Carcassonne, except the tiles are train tracks. The object is to build long tracks to score the most points. The track patterns are like the ones in Tsuro, combinations of straight, curved or criss-crossed. Offensively, you can also place tiles to shorten opponents tracks.A simple game to learn but unpredictable enough for repeated play. Highly recommended.

Just OK - Nothing Special

I recently got into garnet - and wanted to get a companion piece to a garnet bracelet I purchased on my trip to Prague last year. This blarcelet is really nothing special. The color is mediocre - not the deep rich burgundy color I expected and was hoping for, especially considering a rave review from another customer, but a somewhat watered down pinkish color.

Cute

I got this for my daughter's 5th birthday. It is cute, but the swing around trunk is useless. Tika is supposed to swing her trunk around, pick up the little doll and put her on her back. You are supposed to put one of the little dolls in front of Tika on a little cardboard mat that shows you where to place them. 9 times out of 10 it misses, which became very frustrating for my daughter. She also ownes the little elephants that you hook together. She would much rather play with those.

Great value. Kids 6 & 4 loved it. It was their favourite Santa Present.Works very well when using the template but was also fun trying to guess where to put the doll to get picked up. Very good magnets in dolls and on trunk of elephant.Was wary of it due to other poor reviews but they were not warranted. Toy is very good and well made.

Junk, junk, junk!

I'll admit it- I was thinking that this probably wasn't a good call when I bought it. But my daughter really, really wanted it for her birthday- in fact, it was the only thing she wanted! So, I bought it. It is VERY hard to use correctly- you need to sit the mini Barbies JUST SO at a certain distance on the "template leaf" (direct quote). The, half the time, it doesn't work anyway, or the doll falls off, or the trunk falls off the elephant. Most of the time, our elephant sits with his trunk fallen off. Sad, and a waste. If your child really loves it, buy the mini version- it doesn't throw the dolls around, but it's cheaper and works better (it rolls.)

It works for what I want

It worked for a few months in my 08 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn, and then I don't know if it was the PAC, but when i turned my radio off, my subs just started humming as loud as possible. It could have been the subs too, because it happened with two different amps, pyramid and pyle. But when your radio is on, you will here a small static sound if your volumes turned down. I'll just rig up the REM with a switch.

Cut once, file never

Forrest has a great reputation with their wood saw blades. This blade (made for non-ferrous metals) is in every way an equal. The cut on extruded aluminum is so smooth that you can run your fingers over the cut without worrying about getting a metal sliver. We have not needed to use a file to clean up any of the cuts so far.Maybe, someday, it will wear down enough to cut as poorly as other blades...

Toy seems to be fragile, Difficult to fit 2 dolls, Carousel does not spin by itself.

I bought this toy for my daughter for her 5th birthday. She loves the disney princesses and I thought it would be nice for her to have this. I also bought 2 disney princess dolls so she could put them inside the carousel part of the toy. I bought Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. Immediately when I opened the box, I realized the toy was pretty fragile and looks like it can break easily. If you have kids that play rough, this toy may not last too long.I also noticed that the box said you could fit 2 dolls inside. While this is true, its a little hard to put the dolls inside, because they just fit perfectly.Finally, I was under the impression that the carraige part, or the carousel part would spin on its own perhaps by pushing a button. In reality, you have to push or move the horse and carousel and then it will spin around. There is also only one song that plays and it can be annoying after a child plays with the toy for a long time. My daughter also has to crawl along with the toy as she moves it along the floor for it to spin and play the music which isn't very comfortable for long so I don't think she will play with it for more than a few minutes at a time.Overall, my daughter does play with it and its an ok toy, but I wouldn't spend more than $10 or $15 for it.

Definitely a good choice

We got the musical carousels for my 4 year old and 2 year old for Christmas. They have not stopped playing with them since. While it's not educational in the traditional sense, it certainly does stimulate their imagination which I find to be just as important. It is definitely durable. They've been dropped, tipped, and stepped on (2 year old) and have come out on top, working perfectly. I would definitely recommend this toy.

cute, but beware of song!

I bought my 4 year old the Disney Princess castle as well as this product for Christmas. While the Princess castle was very flimsily made, this product seems to be much more durable. I love that the horse has wheels on the bottoms of his feet so she can just pull the carriage. the song that plays when the carriage is pulled will probably drive you crazy, but completes that whole "princess" magic. Oh, and the horse's hair is sewn down to a piece of plastic and you have to cut the thread out...what a pain!

Excellent beginner lego set for the child who need help getting his own ideas going!

My son instantly loved this toy! He has pounds of legos already stashed in boxes that we've inherited, with no direction. We knew that he would love them if he had a good place to start, so we bought this kit. There is no book, even though the box says "book". But, that doesn't detract from the fun factor. It includes 9 small projects (jeep, frog, airplane, etc.) that can be completed in 10 minutes or so, with easy illustrations. He sat for at least 2 hours and wore himself out putting together 7 of the projects, and displayed them proudly. Now he can't wait to buy more little lego kits. So I guess the word is, get them started with something small, and then stand back and watch them go!I would say any child from the age of 6-10 would enjoy this toy, if they are beginner lego enthusiasts.

Loving Legos

My 5 year old grandson enjoys Legos. I bought this set because it looked interesting. When he so it his eyes actually sparkled. This set has 9 different projects, each in it's own little bag of everything needed to build including instructions. The first two projects were intimidating for him so I helped to guide hom through the instructions. After that he was on his own. He flew through each project with a confident smile. After he finished putting them all together, which ke did in one sitting, he took them apart and decided to create his own projects from the parts. I enjoyed watching his confidense grow and loved watching him learn how to follow instructions and be creative. Very good purchase. The order was shiped the next day and arrived before it's estimated delivery date.

Excellent noise suppression but not the best available

Noise Ninja works well to suppress noise in images from my Sony A900 camera for ISO 800 and below. At ISO 1600 and above, too much residual noise remains. I like the fact that Noise Ninja can operate either in stand alone mode or as a plug-in to Adobe Photoshop.However, for some cameras a better choice is DxO Labs Optics Pro Elite v5.3.5 that does suppress noise well for Sony images up to ISO 3200. Optics Pro suppresses the noise in RAW images at the de-mosaicing stage where more information is available. Noise Ninja has less information available because it suppresses noise after the image has been converted from RAW format to RGB. Still, Noise Ninja with is a valuable piece of software. I particularly like its method for creating noise profiles at each ISO from the calibration chart that is supplied with Noise Ninja. I have even used Noise Ninja in conjunction with Optics Pro to suppress noise by two somewhat different methods.

Mostly I need this product for photos taken at high ISO in very poor lighting conditions, to wit jazz musicians playing in a cafe or similar setting with dimmed lights. Sometimes I use an ISO of 25,800. This means very serious noise. Noise Ninja removes nearly all noise with minimum loss of detail. It is extremely easy to use.I have the Aperture version.,

Simple and effective

I am a studio sessio bassist, so I normally do not have much need for a bass amp. From time to time, I may need an amp in a studio for a "miked" tone for the recording, but in most cases I run direct with great results.However, I had a dilema: When a studio client would ask me to play live with them, I frequently had to turn down the gig because I had great basses but no amp. I was looking on zZound's website (http://www.zzounds.com) and found this bass amp on sale as a B-stock item. B-stock is great value because it is slight used, usually returned merchandise that has been completely checked over and resold from the manufacturer. I bought this amp for considerably less than retail, it came with full warranty, and it had no cosmetic flaws when I opened the box. I plugged the amp in and hooked up my bass to test the amp, and the tone was amazing! This small combo amp, pound for pound, outperforms the bass stack that I owned before!This amp has 220 watts, which is plenty of power for where musicians in the real world play. Face it: when was the last time you played an arena?! =D This is perfect for a gig in a restaurant, small bar, or club. This combo has an XLR output as well, so when recording or playing a larger venue or an outdoor festival, running to the PA and/or the recording console is extremely easy. I'm not a fan of 15" drivers, but again, I got such a good deal on this amp that I couldn't pass it up! I would have preferred a 2x10 configuration, which Ampeg does have available if you prefer that configuration. Nevertheless, the 15" driver with the 1" compression horn does produce clean, clear, versitile tone. I have used this combo for anything from rock, jazz, blues, metal, pop, country, gospel, etc. I have never had any complaints about the tone.The preamp filters consist of a simple 3-band EQ (bass, mid, treble), which sounds surprisingly good for only being a 3-band EQ. There is also a 5-position switch with predetermined EQ curves from the factory: 1 & 2 scoop out the mids (1 = heavy scoop, 2 = light scoop), 3 is flat (no coloration), 4 & 5 boost the upper mids while keeping the lows and lower mids flat. All of these positions have very usable tones by themselves, but then when you use the 3-band EQ to tweak the tone... BAM!! Ampeg tonal magic!! I don't know what Ampeg does to make this little box sound so good, but whatever it is works! ;)Some other features that I like are the BUILT IN TUNER (huge convenience, and the tuner is accurate), a mute switch (always a welcome addition to a bass amp as far as I'm concerned), and removable casters so that moving the amp around is a breeze. Also, the classic black Ampeg look. I can go to any kind of gig, and the musicians and fans will immediately know what kind of amp I'm playing and how good it will sound. There's also RCA left and right (that's red and white) connections so that you can hook up your iPod, CD player, metronome, or drum machine while you practice. I usually don't practice plugged in, so that doesn't really matter much to me. :)There are also a couple of little things that Ampeg thought of that don't really matter to players unless something goes wrong... For example: ever broken a knob off your combo amp because it stuck out too far and your car door hit it? I think we've all been there... The tops of the control knobs are slightly under flush from the top of the cabinet. Minimal risk for knob breakage. The power cable is built in, though I would have preferred a standard detachable power cable. Again, though, minimal risk. There is a space on the back of the cabinet under the head that's about 4-5" tall and is deep enough to tuck the power cable away when no plugged in. They even thought to put velcro tabs in this spot to secure the cable.A couple of things that I would have liked to see on this amp include a compresser and lighter weight. The power amp does have a built in limiter to protect the amplifier from signal peaks. This does have some effect on the tone, but it is minimal. I like a compressed tone, but I can buy a foot pedal for compression. Not a huge-mongous deal. Also, this thing is an 85 lbs BEAST!! The casters do make lugging this heavy box around easy once it is on the ground, but getting it in/out of the car is a little rough on my lower back. If you don't mind the weight too much, this will not be an issue. I would have also liked to see an effects loop and an auxilary speaker output. I think Ampeg was trying to keep this amp very simple, so I understand why these features aren't there. It still sucks a bit though...Overall, I was very impressed with the performance, tone, look, and everything else with this particular combo amp. I am very glad that I bought it, happy about the good deal I got, and overjoyed with the tone this box puts out.

too big

These boots are beautiful and look like excellent quality. They arrived promptly.Unfortunately they are too big and we had to return them. The heel is too wide and the foot slips around inside. We ordered 1/2 size smaller than usual due to the reviews we read, but guess we should have gone a full size smaller.

Good boot, narrow top

I've had these boots for about a year now, and they have worn very well. I wear them all the time and the quality is great...and you can't beat the price. I have a wide foot (EE width) and the opening or upper of the boot was very narrow. I also have a pair of Red Wing boots in the same size and they are much more loose at the top. They do stretch but it take some time.
