Great Bedroom Lamps

Wifey has been looking all over Southern California for the *perfect* lamps for the bedroom. The lamps needed to be contemporary artistic, add some color and be tall enough for the bedroom set which is quite high. She really didn't find what she was looking for until she stumbled on the Uttermost line which had the styles she wanted. She found this style at a designer shop that had it priced almost 2X what Amazon offered it for. She ordered the lamps through Amazon and three weeks later one arrived and about a week later the second one arrived. When I called Uttermost after only one lamp arrived, the Customer Service group immediately noted that it was their error and they expedited the second lamp. Great lamps, good Customer Service, happy wife. Life doesn't get much better.

Exactly how tall is it?

I bought two of these for my husband's birthday. He wanted something to put in his man cave that he could sit on with a buddy and drink a cool one. He has a work table/bench that is about 38 inches tall and I was hoping that these would be tall enough so him and his friend of choice wouldn't feel (or look) like little kids sitting at the table. I liked the idea that these are adjustable in case one fine day he actually does something out in his man cave other than sit around and gossip. Nowhere on any of the reviews or even in the product description...does it say how tall or how low these will adjust. I took a chance because of the good reviews on the quality and durability of the thing. My husband is a tool snob, only buying the very best of everything. He is, afterall, a diesel mechanic so I give him credit for knowing quality when he sees it in the tool and hardware things. This reminds me of something made by Snap-On or MAC tools, it really is a good quality chair.The box it comes in is quite small so I was amazed it was as big as it is. It was delivered very quickly and even the UPS guy was envious of my husbands gift. It comes in quite a few pieces that all fit together well in the box.As the wife of a mechanic, I never have to assemble anything, thank God, but I wanted to surprise him with these so I gave it a try. Much to my astonishment I was able to follow the easy directions and assemble it myself. All I needed was a size 14 metric wrench and a Phillips screwdriver. When it is all the way raised it is just over 23" tall at the seat. The wheels glide around easily and there are 5 of them so you don't have to worry about tipping over backwards. The wheels are a good quality rubbery plastic, like that on skateboards.When my husband sits at it, he can easily rest his elbow on the workbench too. The workbench hits him about mid-chest when he is sitting at it. He is 5'9" tall and his feet easily touch the floor,as do mine. The seat itself isn't as comfortable on a curvy bottom such as my own and I thought the back would be a little taller than it is. These are deffinately meant for people who kind of lean forward and actually do work on stuff, not sit around and talk to their buddies. However, the heavy duty wheels and the little tool tray at the bottom make this a good all around seat or stool for whatever you or your husband do out in his man cave/garage. I reccommend this product and think it will last my husband and his friends a good long time. If I can put it together ANYone can do it. Ladies, surprise your husband and get him one of these-he'll love it.

nice surprise

Since I bought it, the price went up 30$ and shipping has been added. It's STILL worth the money for what you get. Comfortable, moves easily on carpet and adjusts to great heights! And it was really easy to assemble (all nutz, washers, etc are already ass'y, you just have to unscrew, join pieces and refasten.) The seat is a generous size (as is mine) so it's comfy too. can't go wrong with this.My husband said Snap On or Mac would charge well over a hundred bux for this.

contemporary fluorescent lighting

This replaced an aging, over-powering large, very 80's fluorescent light in my kitchen. I had updated everything else but couldn't find the right lighting. This was perfect. It's 2 bulbs provide 95% of the light that my old 4 tube light provided. And it's much more sleek. Really opened up the space.

Good looking but so cheaply made

Fixture looks nice but required a new ballast after only using it for one week. Had to replace bulbs because of the yellow tint they gave off. Light still not sufficient with the cool white bulbs, as fixture will only accommodate 32 wt bulbs. Would be better considering the size of the fixture if a 40 wt bulb could be used also. Kitchen looks dim. The supports for the bulbs are hard to work with as the material used is very poor quality. Wound up spending a lot of extra money on items that I had to replace and tips for the handyman needed to replace them for me. Disappointing.

Works well and folds fairly flat

Very nice product, I bought this to do an engine swap and first things first, if you buy this get Amazon Prime. Shipping was $87.00 for this one item, Prime is/was $80.00 per year and give free shipping on most things so therefore I saved $7 immediately. I have used this for quite a lot and it is very helpful for even more than engines. It also gets high enough to put an engine well into the bed of my pickup. I haven't had any real issues and I would rate it 5 stars but the wheels are too small and in my opinion should be solid rubber or flat steel not curved steel.

Very nice

These lights are very nice compared to what you will get at the home improvement stores for the same price. The only problem with them, as others have mentioned, is the shoddy paint work. Mine have bare spots showing. I will touch them up because I like the style and want to keep them. The wrinkled glass is a nice touch but don't expect it to hide the fact that you are using ugly CFL's. I ended up using pointed style incandscents to give them the classy look. The aluminum is very thick as is the glass. I bought seven total (post & wall) to go around my house.

Great Jack

I've been using bottle jacks forever. A friend let me borrow his air/hydraulic jack and I loved it. This one was not the most expensive nor the least expensive model out there. I've used it to change tires on my RV and it lifted the RV perfectly and easily. The large base (much larger than looks in the picture) makes a very stable platform. When pressure is released, there is a smooth lowering.It's heavy for it's size, but it is solidly built.

The Perfect Piano Lamp

The House of Troy piano floor lamp is perfect for use with a grand piano and is worth the price. It is attractive, solid, and well-made. I was tired of having lamps sitting on the piano and ending up in the way of music. The PFL-617 sits along side the piano and out of the way. The arm is easily adjustable and puts the light right where you need it.Most of my family plays the piano and loves the lamp. I've had mine for a year now and have just ordered one as a Christmas gift for my mom.Kudos to the folks at House of Troy!

An elegant choice for an elegant instrument

The first lamp I bought for my grand piano was an articulated desk lamp with a cool, modern design. It looked okay but it was rather heavy on the desk and the luminaire did not light up enough of the music.My second piano lamp was the clip-on light from House of Troy. It had a great beam spread and looked rather good. Unfortunately, it didn't balance well on my Baldwin and was prone to tipping forward. I had several near-disasters spurred by rapid page-turns.My last piano lamp is this floor lamp, also from House of Troy. I like it because it stays out of my way, doesn't even touch the piano, and puts a good spread of light on the music. (I use a multiple-LED lamp in it.) Its size and shape complement the grandeur of the instrument.One thing to be aware of is that the counterweight end of the boom takes up considerable space. The mast can be positioned quite close to the piano, but the boom is going to stick out 12 to 18 inches away from the side.

What can I say? It's stylish and allows the light to be used without blocking your vision.Moreover, It doesn't sit ON the piano... For those people who have such lights... Don't you hate how the light vibrates and moves when you play? No such problem with the floor lamp.AND, more importantly, I think the folks at Illuminati lighting and their customer service department are 6-star!!

Anybody, who wants to buy this product, I suggest to try to look for same product by other companies like BodySculpture etc.NOT SUNPENTOWN in my humble opinion.First - an awful design of a previous century, about such a design is possible to say - made by axe. An awful design with a noisy grandma timer and one ugly switch button on-off. Design is not ergonomic - no possibility for height adjustment - very inconvenient. The belt buckles are produce an unpleasant noise when contact with the device handles (because of its design). No possibility to massage the lower part of legs due to the stupid handles.Second - there is no possibility to change the speed of the device - this is a lie/untruth, this company write on the datasheet - you can change only the amplitude of vibrations (no speed change).Third - only 2 belts - no roller belt, no silicon belt, no anti-cellulite belt, no belts for arms - like other companies sell with their massagers.Fourth - there is no clear directives or explanations brochure for usage of this massager and the belts. The customer have to find out by himself what are the configurations of belts and body parts, which could be optimal and not harmful.The massager cost was $189 (include shipment). The same class massagers with set of 4-6 belts and modern and ergonomic design are cost about $250 - is a better investment.

Outstanding

I was really upset becuase suddenly, working out and a healthy diet were not enough any more to keep lean certain areas of my body. So I decided to try this type of massager and I bought it 3 years ago. I still use it, especially during Spring, to shape and get rid of excess fat I build up during the winter. It has worked for me: it really shapes and indeed I do loose inches. However, I am sure that I would not see results if I did not keep up with my excercises and good balanced meals.

Solid quality

Really like this set and seems every bit as good as the more expensive equivalent. Better than that, it has longer cable length to the battery which makes it much easier to install in a good place on my large truck. The cable clamps are very durable and heavy duty. Great all around!

Nice kit, can't beat it for the $!

I purchased this to install on my 2012 Jeep Wrangler. I have wanted to do a setup like this for years and on my last 3 SUV's but money and such has prevented me. Got a new car and now was the time to do it. The cables are high quality, and the wire is heavy duty. I have not had need to use them yet, but I cant wait to do it. I changed out the ends on the wires to genuine Anderson brand plugs mostly because I wanted the one on the Jeep to be black not blue and the one on the other end to be red (entirely cosmetic) I also purchased boots for the Anderson plugs to keep debris out of them. This is highly recommended as well as di-electric grease.The clips on the cables are substantial and nice quality.I cant wait to try these out and heading into winter, I'm sure I'll have the opportunity soon enough.

Nice quality for a fair price

Like the previous reviewer, I too was looking for 2 GA jumpers for my diesel service truck. I couldn't bring myself to shell out almost $300 for jumpers so I settled for this set in 4 GA. Being part of a family farm, I am quite often jumping tractors, semi trucks, and other heavy equipment so I wanted the lowest gauge, longest, and 100% copper conductor cables I could get without taking out a small loan.After shopping around online, this was the best deal I found. There are similar cables by other more well known companies for around $150, but the longest I could find was 20 ft. I really wanted 25 ft and ATD was the only company offering them. Although this is a lesser known brand, the quality matches that of others and clearly they are 100% copper conductors. The connector is probably an andersen power pole or similar knock off, although there is no name on it I can find. And not shown in the picture but included in the package is the dust cap to cover the end which stays permanently mounted on the truck.A hardware kit is included with 2 sets of screws, and adapters to connect to a side terminal battery. This hardware kit is where my only negative comment lies and the reason for a 4 star rating instead of 5. Two sets of machine screws with nylock nuts are included, however neither set is really the proper size. The smaller diameter screws are undersized and the heads do not fit into the corresponding hex cutouts in the connector. These cutouts are designed to capture the bolt head head and prevent it from turning during installation, allowing the user to only need one wrench to turn the nylock nut, instead of needing to hold both the bolt and the nut. The larger diameter screws were over-sized and would not fit through the hole molded in the connector and I was not about to drill the holes out on something that just arrived on my door step. I could have gone to the hardware store to find the proper size screws, however I settled for using the smaller diameter screws and 2 wrenches for installation. Don't take this comment that the screws are inadequate as they fasten the connector to the truck just fine, it was just an inconvenience during installation.I also purchased a Bucket Boss 06009 Jumper Cable Bag from Amazon with this order. They already have highly rated reviews, but I was worried that 25 ft of 4 GA and the big clamps would fit. These cables fit just fine in the bag however.I have not jumped anything yet as I just installed this kit last night, but I'm satisfied with my purchase and I look forward to years of use from this product.
