As described, mostly

This is a sturdy, attractive lamp. The shipping was not fast. I had to ask for an update on the status of the transaction after I hadn't heard anything for over a week after I ordered it. When it arrived it was a cinch to assemble, only taking me 3 or 4 minutes. The description tells which type of bulbs the lamp uses and distinctly says "not included." Interestingly, my package included two compact fluorescent bulbs, but one of them was smashed to smithereens. Because of the hazard of mercury in CFLs, this is one freebie I would rather not have gotten. The switches on the pole are easy to operate. A three-way switch for the upper lamp would have been nice. The glass shades are pretty. The base on my lamp was scratched a bit, but I'm not worried about it. Here's a summary:Pros: heavy, sturdy, easy to put together, product is as pictured.Cons: shipping took longer than I would have thought, even taking into account freight; one of the two included light bulbs was broken; I would have liked a 3-way switch for the upper socket.Overall I'm satisfied with this purchase.

Beautiful and Sturdy but Need Instructions

As I unpacked my new lamp, I was very happy at how sturdy it was and how beautiful the lamp shades were. I got the pole pieces all put together no problem but when I went to put on the shades, there was a problem. There's an aluminum ring that I assumed was supposed to fit into the shades because I saw no other way for it to attach to the lamp. Well I was wrong. If there had been instructions, I would have figured it out, but as it turns out, my husband got it put together.Hey Lite Source? How about some instructions for those of us who aren't so smart?

This product met all of our expectations. It was easily assembled and looks terrific. I knew that the top light was not a 3-way light when I purchased it, but think the product would be much improved if it were manufactured that way. Shipping and delivery was timely and uneventful.
