5Add CurrySimple and - Viola! - you've got restaurant-quality Thai for dinner
By Andy Orrock
We found out about CurrySimple's Thai Coconut Curry Combo Pack because one of Amazon's editors had written a compelling post about it on one of the Amazon blogs I subscribe to in my reader. I think the title of the post was something along the lines of "Thank you, CurrySimple!" We bit. What a find! This is a great product - we 'simply' add CurrySimple's spice mix into a bowl of chicken or tofu, rice and some vegetables and - Viola! - we've got a dish on par with the offerings of the best Thai restaurants. It only takes minutes. We've resolved to always have CurrySimple in the pantry. The Combo Pack is the way to go. It's the best value, and all five products are winners. It's tough to choose a favorite from amongst the red, yellow, green and Masaman curries. Even the Coconut Soup is a winner...we had it once as a soup, then fashioned the second packet as a serviceable curry substitute.

5My favorite curry - just like the real stuff!
By Cynthia A. Woo-nichols
We first discovered Curry Simple in Piedmont Park in Atlanta, GA during the Saturday's Farmer's Market. They had sample of each flavor and we got to try each one. Our favorite, Red Curry! It is now a regular staple in our pantry!! Add some vegetables, naan bread from Publix and make some Indian rice. It's like having Curry without the expense of a restaurant. Even my picky daughter likes it! Thanks for carrying their product.

5Tastes like a Thai Restaurant!
By Delora Busby
We love these sauces! We were disappointed that we didn't get to try the coconut soup as they were out and subbed more of the other sauces, but other than that we have loved each and every one of the curry sauces, so maybe that turned out to be our good luck.We have tried other premade curry sauces from the grocery store and are always disappointed in them, however, these taste just like a Thai restaurant. We will be ordering more.

5The very best garden hose.
By William L. Woods
This hose addresses every complaint I have about almost all garden hoses. Most are too heavy or kink very easily. The Gardena hose is very lightweight but also very durable. It is so light that dragging it through landscaping won't damage your plants. It coils very easily, looks good and is very well made. It is highly resistant to kinking. I first bought a shorter length and when I saw how well it performed, I ordered the 50 meter (165 ft) size.

4Decent hose, but know what you are getting
By Zack!
I got this hose as part of a set that also included a reel. The length I have is 66 ft, but I believe my review is generally applicable to any Gardena Classic hose, regardless of length, so you will see it repeated in other places.Summary: The Gardena Classic hose is great, as long as it is used for the right purpose.KinksThere is no truly kink-free hose despite what advertisers might say or users might expect. They all are kink-prone to some extent. The Classic hose is Gardena's lowest-quality line of hoses. Gardena assigns three starts to this hose to indicate the class, with their Premium SkinTech line receiving 6 stars. Consequently, it is not too surprising that the Classic hose is more kink-prone than other Gardena hoses. The hoses with SkinTech are a true pleasure to work with. Still, the Classic hoses are perfectly fine, as long as they are used for the right purpose, such as for above-ground irrigation lines to sprinklers (buried in mulch, ideally), or for any other situation where the danger of kinking is kept to a minimum. Careful handling is recommended.LongevityThis type of hose is not meant to be left in the full sun for extended periods of time. I have heard that the Classic hoses can start to form bubbles when exposed to intense sun light over the years. That has not happened to me, but I won't risk it. I generally cover the hose up when not in use, or bury it when used for stationary lines to sprinklers.WeightThis hose is very lightweight and therefore a pleasure to work with. When combined with a portable (Gardena) hose reel the entire setup is easily transportable, even when filled with water.Flow rateGenerally, I found that flow rates are determined much more by what is attached to hoses (nozzles, sprinklers, spigot, valves, etc.) than by the hoses themselves. For example, a nozzle attached to our 66-ft 1/2" Classic hose gives the same spray experience as when attached to 5/8" hoses, be it 50 or 100 ft long ones. Your mileage may vary, but in general, I believe that 1/2" hoses work well for a majority of situations, such as basic watering of flower beds, washing the car, etc.End connectorsEnd connectors, in my opinion, is where much of the aggravation with hoses comes from. The Classic hose, being from Gardena, obviously fits into the Gardena quick-connector system. The connectors on this hose are general connectors in the sense that they attach to a cut-off end of a hose. They do not screw into male/female garden-hose threads. This feature makes it very convenient to cut hoses to required lengths, if necessary. We have embraced the Gardena system for years, and we are very happy with it, but there are a couple of things to be mentioned here: one of the connectors had recently developed a leak. At first, I thought it was malfunctioning, but then I discovered that robust handling had jiggled it loose a bit. If that happens (once so far over two years), just unscrew the connector, clean off any debris, push the hose back into the connector all the way, tighten connector, and everything will be good again. High water pressure at the spigot could work connections loose over time, so it is best to release any pressure when the hose is not in use. Connectors with garden-hose threads potentially make for stronger connections, but quality is important here. The threads on many common hoses are quite bad, easily crushable or just don't seal properly. In general, it is important to service any connector by replacing the O-rings every now and then (chlorine in the water will chew them up over time).Happy watering!

5Best Vollyball system I've ever owned!!!!
By Mark J. Korpa
Easy to install and works as advertised. I was a bit skeptical about the sturdiness of the vollyball posts (no guy wires and no digging holes with cement) but once you insert the ground plate into the ground (with a 10" spike welded to the plate) and then drive the 24" aluminum spike through the plate's collar, the posts become extremely solid. The net was easy to put up and overall installation was about 15 minutes. Make sure you set up the rope perimeter first!!! This will allow for minor adjustments before you start driving the spikes. Also, the rope perimeter provides the correct distance for width of net (plates are to be installed 20" in from rope perimeter. Some concerns:The instructions for installation are poor. There is a metal piece that fits over the 24" aluminum spike that is used while driving the spikes into the ground. I found this out afterwards. The directions call for a large hammer -- Better to use a sledge!!! Also, make sure you don't drive the stake even with the plate's collar. The picture is not really clear but the stake should remain about 1" above the collar.Overall -- the design and quality far exceed the poor directions. We have been using the vollyball system for about 3 weeks and love it!!! 5 stars to no guy wires!!!

5Awesome volleyball set!
By dad2tandj
We've been through several volleyballs sets over the years; they all end up trashed in no time, and the net never is as tight as you want it to be. The Mongoose set is the best portable set we've had! And no guy wires! The directions do have a bit to be desired, but once you figure it out, it's awesome. Highly recommended.

5Great Set, Poor Instructions
By BoilerUp
We purchased this set with the expectation that the instructions would be difficult to understand (based on previous reviews). The comments from the other reviews were very helpful, because the written instructions from the company weren't very clear. The pictures on the box are helpful when setting up. It is very sturdy, and once we got the set up for the first time, we loved it. Very easy to mow around, no guy wires to trip over.

4Not perfect, but great none the less.
By DanTheMan
This speaker has a very smooth response on and off axis, narrow dispersion, and virtually no diffraction. Bass seems a touch heavy, but easily adjustable on the back of the enclosure. The vertical polar response shows a rather narrow window. Not a big problem if you keep your ear level between the drivers or slightly toward the tweeter side. The tweeter's break up is sort of low at about 15kHz, but it's not really audible. It holds up well at high volumes. Build quality is incredible! That sums this up as far as I'm concerned. I'd get another of it were stolen or destroyed.

Sony Bravia KDF-37H1000 37-Inch 720p 3LCD Rear Projection HDTV Product Description:

  • HD 720p (1280 x 720) Picture Resolution
  • Excellent large screen replacement for 32" CRT TVs
  • BRAVIA Engine¿ EX full digital video processing system
  • Xross Media Bar (XMB¿) on-screen menu system
  • S-Force¿ Surround 3-D audio effect

Product Description

3LCD Chips --- The 3LCD technology at the heart of Sony's BRAVIA¿ televisions provide a bright picture, with high detail and natural color. These three key benefits are immediately apparent when viewing a BRAVIA¿ TV. You can expect to see an incredibly detailed picture with eye-popping colors. Sony uses three tiny LCD chips (0.73) with a combined resolution of over 2.76 million pixels. The light from a high output UHP lamp shines into a filtering system that splits the beam into red, green, and blue light streams. Each color goes through its own LCD chip, which passes or blocks the light. The three beams are then instantaneously recombined and sent to the projection lens. BRAVIA Engine¿ EX System --- The BRAVIA Engine¿ EX video processing system came about as a result of Sony's expertise and long heritage in bringing cutting-edge picture quality to consumer televisions. It contains intelligent picture enhancement technology that reduces unwanted digital artifacts and delivers superb clarity and detail along with vivid colors. Sony's own Digital Reality Creation Multi-function v1.0 (DRC-MFv1) processor replaces the original SD signal with its HD equivalent. The result of BRAVIA Engine EX processing? Picture quality has texture and detail, deep and vibrant colors, along with excellent depth and contrast.

4Wonderful HDTV For Those Of Us With Older Entertainment Centers
By J. Carlin
There is only one reason to pay $900 for a 37" LCD Projection HDTV...space. My 32" 4:3 TV died and it sat in a beautiful Oak entertainment center. I'm not ready to part with that furniture yet. The opening for the TV is made for an up to 35" standard TV. Sony was on the ball creating this HDTV for people like me.Flat panel LCD's in this size range don't measure up to the brightness, contrast and color of the Sony Bravia. Read the specs and compare. Luckily when I was shopping around I was able to view this set next to several other LCD's and it easily showed them up.When you get this thing hooked up, tune it to the National Geographic HD channel for eye popping results. I did find that I had to mess around with the picture settings quite a lot before I could find what worked for me. There are lots of options. Take your time with them. The things that I didn't like about this set that took away the fifth star are:1) Screen door effect. If you have been reading up on RP-LCD, you already have heard about it. Yep, its there. Although I haven't really seen it with the HD content. You really notice it on the low def stuff. It bugged me real bad the first week, but I hardly notice it much a week later.2) Side mounted buttons. Here's a HDTV marketed directly to consumers that will be placing it in a cabinet. Move them to the front for this set.3) Long, long, long warm-up time on the projector lamp. OMG, I'm back in the 60's waiting for my TV to warm up. We're talking 30+ seconds before the picture comes on. I got spoiled with the near instant on with my last 32" TV.4) $200 to replace the projector lamp! Yikes, I hope I get all of my 8000 hours.5) Trouble getting a learning remote to learn the special keys for Screen Zooming, Picture control, etc... Tried three different learning remotes and none of them could reproduce the signal. I hate juggling remotes.Don't take any of the above as deal breakers. The screen door effect is minimal, buttons are hardly accessed, I've learned to have patience, 8000 hours is about 2.5-3 years at 8 hours a day and tomorrows remotes will probably work fine with it.ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS -Its now been two weeks with the Sony and I'm starting to notice something that is really bugging me. So you understand how bad, I'm considering returning the set over it. When watching anything, HDTV, SDTV, DVD, etc... I can see an interleave effect when the scene changes. I notice this about 70% of the time. My family swears they can't see it, but it is bugging me to death. If anyone else has this set and you see it too, please write a review and identify such.

4Great TV but not as good as Sony's LCD flat panels.
By Jim Green
I compared this TV to Sony's KDL-32M3000 LCD flat panel TV. The LCD TV won out because:1. Sharper picture on HD signal - the KDF-37H1000 is a little more blurry. (Note the KDF-37H1000 picture is better than no-name brand LCDs). The Sony LCDs had better focus.1a. LCD TVs have a brighter picture. The Sony TVs have 3 picture settings: i) Vivid (very bright, what you see in Best Buy, ii) Standard (less bright, what looks better at home), and iii) Cinema (softer, more reds and earth shades). On the KDF-37H1000, you have to set it to vivid to watch even at home. On LCDs, you have to reduce brightness becuase they're brighter pictures.2. SD cable on LCD TV is much much better than on KDF-37H1000.2a. Motion was much cleaner on the LCD TVs. Sports blurred on the KDF-37H1000. I watched a bit of "8 below" Disney's Alaskan adventure with lots of white dogs and snow, and it looked bad, blurry and soft on the KDF-37H1000.3. LCD TV has much less depth. Looks sleeker. I also tapped my fingers and felt around the frames on the 2 TVs. The LCDs were firmer and fit better. The KDF-37H1000 frame was looser and cheaper materials like a toy.4. Maintainence costs - the KDF-37H1000 will require $200-400 bulb replacement in 1.5 years. The sales people said this could even happen in less than a year due to bulb malfunctions, just like in a floor lamp or any lamp. Note, Sony is phasing out LCD projection TVs in favor of SXRD, Hence, parts for the KDF-37H1000 will become harder to find. The KDF-37H1000 lamps are already $400 (Sony parts are always costlier - look at their digital camera memories, compared to Canon's).4a. The complex combination of chips, mirrors, projectors, lamps on a projection TV is more prone to break than the simpler LCD technology. I am an electrical engineer and design integrated circuits for a living.5. The KDF-37H1000 generates more heat than LCD, but much less than plasma.6. The KDF-37H1000 has moving parts, such as the cooling fan, etc., All of these are more prone to malfunction.7. Consumer reports rates the LCD TV reliability higher than projection TVs after looking at consumer repair data. Projection TVs had higher rates of return and repair.7a. The folks at Best Buy told me they saw higher rates of returns due to reliability on the KDF-37H1000 than on Sony's LCDs.8. The LCD TV has higher pixel count 1368 X 768, compared to the KDF-37H1000's 1200 X 720. This leads to sharper picture and better focus.9. Screen door effect on KDF-37H1000. When objects on screen moved, their individual pixels did not move as a group. The picture was constantly dissolving and reforming. Faces had spots that appeared and dissappeared.10. 2-3 years from now, I can put the LCD TV on a dresser in my bedroom as a 2nd TV, or put it in my study as a computer monitor. Cannot do this with the KDF-37H1000.11. Moving - when we move houses, the LCD TV will ride easily in the seat in my Honda Civic. Cannot do this with the KDF-37H1000, which will have to go in the back of the truck with my wife. The KDF-37H1000 was better than the Sony LCD TV in terms of:1. Sound was better becuase larger speakers2. A few more features and options that I will not use.3. Larger screen. However, you must sit further back to avoid seeing spots and motion blurs.Note the KDF-37H1000 is an excellent TV and very reliable compared to no-name brands. Definitely more reliable than the Samsung Slimfit TVs. We just came out fo a bruising battle with Samsung, and their reliability and customer service is not good. The KDF-37H1000 does look very good compared to Samsung or Westinghouse LCD TVs, which had cheap and shiny frames. However, the KDF-37H1000 is just not as good as Sony's 32" LCD TVs. If you want a bigger screen than Sony's LCDs, go 46" or 55" projection. The SXRD projection TVs had better motion. If you're thinking of 37", get an LCD.One thing the KDF-37H1000 has going for it is Sony reliability. I work for IBM and we design integrated circuits for Sony's products. They require a 100 defective parts per million quality level from us. This is very good in the industry.

4Great TV replaces 32 inch tube
By Steven R. Krug
Great TV, light and affordable. Better picture than similar price LCD's. Lots of inputs, and picture and sound options. We replaced our old 32 inch tube with this TV, my wife wanted to keep our TV cabinet so this was the perfect solution. We are very impressed with the picture, and we don't have HD yet. We are using Directv Tivo and a DVD player with HDMI connection.

4GREAT VALUE FOR FIRST TIME HDTV BUYERS
By Possum-Bread
This Olevia 232T 32 LCD HDTV is my first HDTV. I purchased it to replace my old faithful Apex 32" TV, which became obsolete the day after I bought it. The Olevia is great, in fact, it's almost perfect. And the price of $540.00 was easier to live with than the $1,000 plus price tags on many models. The sound system is good, but it's not like a home theatre system. Don't get me wrong. Compared to my old TV it's incredible. But I heard some awesome sound systems on the more expensive HDTV model's. I knew what to expect when I bought it, so I'm not complaining. But if you want super sound you better expect to pay a higher price.Setting up the Olevia was a little difficult, and I had to ask for help. The manual is only on a CD-ROM, there is no paper manual. Testing the different input jacks was a little annoying because you can't move up and down at will. You have to go through all the steps before you can see how the picture looks. The HDTV channels look fantastic - clear and detailed. The regular (Non-HDTV) channels look alright. HDTV blows my old Apex TV away. One more thing - the remote control. My cable provider's remote can't recognize the codes for the Olevia, so I have to use two remotes: one to change channels and one to adjust volume. I think that may be a cable provider problem with many HDTV models, so I don't fault Olevia.I give the Olevia 232T 32 LCD HDTV 4 stars instead of 5 because of the set-up difficulty and the sound system. Overall it is a great value and I recommend it to first time HDTV buyers.

4Inexpensive, entry level LCD with good picture quality
By Bjorn Akselsen
If you're considering this tv, you're probably like me; you've looked for months, obsessed about price, performance, and in the end, unwilling to spend $1000 for a a better known brand. To complicate matters, I don't even have high def cable, so the real gains in upgrading from my 27 inch Sony CRT were always in question.I won't bore you with too many details, but I found that the picture quality was on par with many of the higher priced alternatives. In fact, I saw no difference between a couple of higher end products and this one. That's the good news. The downside is that the sound is inferior. It sounds weak, "tinny" and is in sharp contrast to the picture. I have tried a work around, hooking up my 2.1 speaker (sub woofer + 2 speakers) and it does sound better, though I'm still not happy with it.All in all, a decent tv, especially picture, though the sound will always irritate me. The real rating should be between 3 and 4.

3Great picture while it lasted
By A. Albert
I purchased this TV for use primarily for use with a PS3 and was mostly pleased. Nice picture, intuitive displays, effective remote, nice input availability, etc.Unfortunately, after a few months it began to smoke and let out a strong smell of burning plastic. Fortunately, it was still within the allowed return period. I am not sure whether or not Olevia brand televisions frequently require repair so early, but personally would not risk buying another Olevia TV without an extended warranty.

5Grandpa was thrilled
By k ely
I sent this walker to my grandfather who has difficulty walking and kept falling when he went out. His current walker was almost 25 pounds far to heavy to manipulate when he went out. I just got a call, the walker was delivered today, he can pick it up with one hand. He was walking all over with it and was so appreciative. Even though I have not seen it yet in person, that is a ringing endorsement from him. Thanks for carrying this type of product.

5Great product
By Clueless in California
I purchased this for my 92 year old Mom for Christmas 2009. I went over with her what she wanted in a new rolling walker, and looked at various products that fit her "would really like" list; this one had it all. It was delivered to my house so I could assemble it before taking it to her and assembly was very easy. Mom has used it for 5 months now, and she loves it. I have asked her if she has had any problems with it, and she has yet to tell me of a problem. I have had to fold it to put it into my car a couple of times, and it is must lighter and easier to maneuver than her previous rollator, making it easy to transport.

5Just the right support for staying mobile
By Sarah D. Meredith
I bought this for my elderly aunt who had been using a cane but was getting more and more anxious about falling. Her physical therapist recommended a rolling walker, and after researching, I found this one. It is lighter weight, has good brake controls, the seat height is just right, and the handles adjust for my aunt's height (important). She took to it very well and is so happy about it. She feels she can walk at a more normal pace, and in fact stands up straighter. Plus she can sit down whenever she is tired, or while waiting for an elevator. Her social worker is delighted - it is not hard to fold and put in the trunk. My aunt also loves that she can put things in the attached basket. The one negative thing was that the first one that came had a defective hand brake and we had to return it. This was really complicated since I don't live near her and her PT had to help pack and ship. It would be better if Amazon would cover the pick up of such items -- especially since they are usually going to an elderly, and potentially infirm, population.

Product Description

The STAGEPAS 500 was developed after numerous requests from end users who liked the STAGEPAS 300, but wanted just a little more. A little more power, larger woofers, more inputs were all addressed in the STAGEPAS 500. Designed to give quality minded musicians, performers, speakers and other presenters a solution for their smaller performances the STAGEPAS 500 delivers without sacrificing high fidelity and professional appearance. The mixer of the STAGEPAS 500 also contains the two 250 watt digital power amplifiers, and it resides in the back of one of the two passive loudspeakers that complete the system. The other loudspeaker has a convenient accessory compartment for the included speaker cables or other gear. This mixer has 10 total inputs. 4 are mono and can accept either microphone or line level instruments, and there are three stereo inputs to accept line level stereo sources like keyboards or CD players. Digital reverb is included onboard the mixer along with EQ or tone controls. In addition to providing simple operation, the mixer will operate installed in the speaker cabinet, out on a table or on a microphone stand with the optional adapter. Simple quarter turn fasteners allow easy removal and replacement with a coin.. The loudspeakers systems offer an 10” long travel woofer and 1” titanium high frequency driver assuring full fidelity sound. The travel cases are custom fit to the STAGEPAS 500 and make transporting the system a breeze. Weighing around 50 lbs, this system plays well beyond its size with remarkable fidelity.

This system is an EXCELLENT value for the money. It is very powerful and so easy to move around using the Yamaha carrying cases. Awesome options and very well built system. The sound quality is top notch!

5Very Nice
By Pam Keller
We use this for a small church worship team and sermon. It is fantastic and allows for use by vocalists and instrumentalists. Each input has separately controlled volume so you can bring out some sounds will taming ones that are too loud. It puts out fantastic, true sound and projects really well. It is a bit heavy to carry, but we got the wheeled cases to cart them around. We rent space for our church, so we carry them back and forth each Sunday. If they are left in place all the time, this is not a problem. Some inputs allow you to put 2 instruments in at a time, but then those two instruments share a volume control. At least the option is there so you can have more inputs. Each line in has a high control and a low/bass control, so it is not too technical, as well as the volume. There are four lines that have an option for mics, and reverb. It is more than I could ever want for our small church. We even use it to place music from an iPod or portable radio. We held a youth dance and used the iPods to play music all night. It is superb for the price. If you want a really high tech option, you will not be happy with this. If you want a good system with quality and performance, this is it!We bought Shure mics with this and they are great. You can use either three prong ended mics or the regular RCA jack mics. Very versatile.

5Surprising Sound for the $
By Robert E. Mcmurtry
I've owned the Yamaha Stagepas 500 system for almost 2 years and find it to be perfect for my application. I use it in a large hall where music and instructional voice are mixed for a dance class. The directional feature works well when one wishes to pinpoint where the sound should be. You can stand behind the speaker and carry on a conversation while music is playing which is unlike many other systems. Other systems flood the hall making music and vocal instructions muddy. However the 500 is loud enough to fill a reasonable size hall for open dance (often louder than I might wish). Too many bands crank up the volume so you an feel the music, often distorted. Though the 500 is limited as far as adjusting the highs and lows, it is adequate for most applications with the flexibility of adding a set of powered speakers or sub-bass. I've had several DJs comment on the system, surprised that it puts out volume and clarity at such a reasonable cost.

5Love the Design
By jade7
Great Crate for the price, especially with the free shipping. The ease of sliding locks makes it easier to take apart to clean and with crate training puppies this helps alot! The door latch feature is also a major plus, just pull up on either left or right doorpost knobs. Some of my crafty puppies were onto the old crate door latches and were occassionally working their door unlatched, noway with these ones! They even come with attachable slide stops for added security when using carrier for longdistance traveling. And as an added bonus they have and optional nylon grommet straps to secure it in your vehicle.

4A NICE small PET CARRIER
By Sunfella "Jim"
The Firstrax 19-inch carrier is well constructed but if you have a dog or cat weighing much over 12 lbs. or so you might want to get something larger. It might as well have been a sardine can as far as my 17 lb. cat was concerned. Not gonna work.

1Inconsistent product quality
By Code Monkey
I've worked for a pro audio company and still work for a consumer audio company as an engineer. I purchased 2 of these from Amazon. When I got them, one speaker buzzed (very low, soft buzzing) with only power connected, no audio connected. The other did not, even when using the same power connections. Amazon was wonderful and replaced the buzzing speaker, but the replacement also buzzed. At this point I contacted the manufacturer and was issued an RMA that took about 6 weeks to fulfill. When I got the RMA item back, it was not the same serial number (in fact it had no serial number on it at all) and had the same buzzing issue. I contacted the manufacturer (now Gibson) and was given a textbook troubleshooting response which demonstrated that they didn't understand the problem since they told me to do things with the audio connection - yeah, no audio connected guys. I even provided spectrum analysis showing the differences in behavior. Most disappointing in all of this is that the manufacture didn't make an actual repair with the RMA. Did they test and understand the problem? They admitted there was an issue by providing me an RMA and now again has given me a second RMA for this speaker. This time, the manufacturer wants me to pay for the RMA shipping... so as you can imagine I am not pleased at all when the speaker weighs a good 30lbs (shipping $$$).Want to like these speakers, but it seems the manufacturer has no idea how to repair/verify their own product. Run away. However, if you do plan on getting the speakers, test them critically for the buzz, seems hit and miss on the product. Good luck. Will try to return them at this point if I can. Sad face.UPDATE:Amazon accepted a return, however charged for the more-than-30-days-since-purchase, so I'm out $180 (2x$90) restocking fee + my time because of this manufacturer's inability to ensure product quality. Was actually surprised Amazon charged a restocking fee in this case, but well, lessons learned. So, if you get defective speakers try a replacement, and if it doesn't work out, return them immediately - don't deal with the manufacturer.

5Great for the Project Studio
By W. Kurtz
I purchased the VXT6 monitors to replace a set of M-audio Bx5a's. There is no comparison. The VXT6 is an incredible value for the price. I had the opportunity to audition them against several others speaker both in and above this price point and kept coming back to the KRK's. To my ear the detail and imaging were quite compelling even against the the lower end Genelec's and the higher end Dynaudio's. The detail of these speakers is what amazes me. I hear it in my mixes and I hear it in recorded music. There are nuances in material that I have listened to hundreds of times that I have never heard until now. Physically this is a hefty speaker. The structural plastic foam material that they build the enclosure from is not flimsy. I like the limiting circuit that is built in that keeps you from clipping the speaker which could cause damage. For me and for the space I work in these speakers are the optimal size and that is an individual thing. Little things to think about is that these are truly near field monitors. You need to be relatively close to hear all it has to offer. It also is finicky about placement. It is best right at ear level. All in all I can't recommend them enough.

4Perfect... after you remove the extra chip
By jholl016
Purchased this add-on for my 2005 530i (bought it through my mechanic, since he wouldn't warrant the part if I bought it through amazon, and the price was the same anyways). My mechanic installed it using BMW's instructions and reprogramed my iDrive so that it showed up properly as an audio input. When I got home and tested it with my phone, I realized that the sound quality was awful. The volume level was about 15 db lower than the other inputs (CD or radio) and there was absolutely no bass whatsoever for the aux input. After the normal troubleshooting of trying different source devices and changing cables, all with no improvement, I hit up the forums online. Many posts spoke of a sound processing chip built into the cable, between the aux input and the connection to the head unit. So, I removed the interior paneling to access the cable, and sure enough, approximately 3 inches from the aux port, there was a large bulge in the cable thickness (like a snake that has swallowed a mouse whole). I removed the protective wrapping from the cable and cut out the sound processing chip, then reconnected the wires. Now, the sound is perfect. The bass frequencies are restored, and the volume level perfectly matches the other inputs. I have no idea what that chip was supposed to be doing, but it was destroying the sound of anything connected through that jack. Maybe I just got a faulty cable? I don't know. But, it appears that the chip is completely unnecessary (as you would expect -- an aux input is just three wires: positive, negative, and ground. There's no processor component to any other aux input I've ever heard of). If you're having your mechanic install this for you, I'd advise you to just go ahead and remove the chip from the beginning. You don't need it.
