5Great strap
By Harold A. Tate, MD
Very stiff at first. Good quality and attractive. Helps but does not solve the problem of heavy extended range basses so prevalent today. A good waist belt design attaching to the lower bout or back of the bass needs to be conceived to help share that load... The only way to improve the design would be to make a right handed and left handed model with anatomical curves.

4Perfect step up from "Home Theater in a Box".
By I. Inc
The price range of this Yamaha receiver should make anybody who doesn't live in a tiny apartment or on a really tight budget reconsider cheap all-in-one systems. I got this receiver, and was using average quality speakers, and the sound was still very natural. I've been using Yamaha products for years, and have never been let down. Here are my Pros:- Automatic calibration: Using the included mic, I was able to setup my speakers in under a minute, and my surround sound is very natural. It even automatically adjusted the equalization of the center speaker to match with the front speakers. I left the default calibration and watched several movies, and have been thoroughly pleased with the results.-Natural Sound: The amplifier is very transparent, and even when using signal processing, the resulting sound seems natural, it is not fatiguing to listen to. My speakers sound a little better with acoustic music, but everything from Miles Davis, John Lee Hooker, Bad Religion, Thievery Corporation, Carl Craig, and Iggy Pop sounded clear and "alive". I used to have a Sony receiver, and it only sounded good with the "right" CD.-MP3 Playback Enhancement: When using an iPod or the MP3 playback of my Philips HDD/DVD recorder, the sound was greatly improved, but not artificially so by using Yamaha's "Music Enhance" processing. This algorithm is designed to make compressed music sound better, and with high-quality rips (192Kbs or better) you really can't tell the difference from the original CD.-iPod Dock: Get the Yamaha iPod dock, but check around for the best price. Got mine for around $50 from an Amazon dealer. The iPod dock lets you control the iPod from the Yamaha remote, and if you hit "display" it will load the song list into the receiver and you can browse the menus using your TV and the Yamaha remote. There are caveats with this, see the Cons. I will say, that the speed of managing the iPod with the remote is very fast, and the whole iPod experience is much faster than using Apple's Front Row to control iTunes (OS X only). The current song is displayed, scrolled as needed, on the receiver's display. The iPod menu is displayed your TV and using the remote buttons, it is very quick to move through the menus.-Bright Orange/Yellow Display: Yamaha has kept with their tradition of using a bright orange/yellow display that is easy to read day or night. I can even see the iPod song titles during the day with little problem.-Remote Control: The remote control is very well-built, stands up to dropping, and is well organized. I was able to setup my Sony TV and my DirecTV Tivo with no problems.OK, here are my beefs. I must state that for the money, you get a plethora of features without sacrificing sound quality. But, as expected, there are a few sacrifices to be made:-No Video Transcode: C'mon guys, analog video processing chips are like 10 cents a piece, would it really hurt to allow users to mix and match video inputs and have the video signals appear on all the video outs simultaneously? What I am saying is that the composite, S-Video and component signal paths are isolated from each other. (Sony receivers will transcode the inputs to all the outputs. But, Sony sound is lackluster)-FM Sensitivity. They could do a better job with the FM stereo blend, and include a tuning meter. I only listen to a couple of stations and a tuning meter would make it easier to "aim" my antenna. If the signal isn't strong, the highs aren't adequately blended to remove all the static and you have to switch to mono.-iPod Caveats: Don't get me wrong, I am addicted to my Yamaha iPod dock. But here is my (minor) complaint list: -You have to hit "Display" to load the iPod menu. This occurs very quickly (I wish my car iPod integration worked this well.) But, there should be a system setting to do this automatically if you wish. -The menu is displayed on the TV, very readable, but the text is straight out of the 80's. Kind of reminds me of the old monitors at the airport. Seriously, it is Courier fixed font. -No screen saver available. There is a setting to make the iPod display stay on the TV forever, but there is no screen saving function. The only way to prevent burn-in is to use the default setting of blanking out the menu. -No album art. This isn't a big deal, the integration of the dock with the receiver is amazing, but I'm just letting you know if album art really matters to you, then think twice. -Play/Pause are slightly different depending it you are simply remote controlling the iPod or using the receiver to read the menu on the TV. This is probably because on an iPod, play and pause are the same button. So in remote control, you toggle the Play button, but in on-screen-menu, you use the individual Play and Pause buttons.Other Cons:-Combination input for V-Aux and iPod Dock. C'mon guys, the iPod dock has a dedicated connection and dedicated controls, would it have really hurt to separate the V-Aux and iPod dock inputs? To use the V-Aux, you have to remove the iPod from the dock. Strangely enough, the XM input is dedicated. (Hmm, maybe XM paid more for integration)-Lack of Bass. This receiver doesn't produce as much Bass as my previous receiver, because it doesn't have a "loudness" control. But it's not really a lack of bass, rather the lack of added bass. I solved this by tweaking the speakers control to send all bass to the sub and then turned up my sub a little bit. To perform that tweak, go to the audio setup menu, than tell the receiver your front speakers are "small", them go to the "bass" menu, and specify all bass should appear at the sub. Some experimentation here will get you outstanding results.-Limited Tone Controls. There are only Bass and Treble tone controls, and they don't have a large effect on the sound. I miss the classic Yamaha "loudness" control, which really made a difference in quiet listening environments.-Front Speakers A and B can't both be active at the same time.-NO HDMI connections. I don't have an HDMI TV yet, so I don't care. But make sure if you buy this receiver, that your TV has enough HDMI inputs AND your TV has digital sound output. Then just control all your video through your TV, and connect this receiver to your TV's digital audio output.-Remote Control Con: I can't get the remote to control my Phillips HDD/DVD recorder. This particular Phillips DVR is a strange beast, it's not quite a Tivo, but it's more than a DVD recorder. I love the Phillips DVDR3575H, but I just can't get my Yamaha remote to work with it. The downside is that there is no "learning" capabilities. If I could just manually "teach power", play, pause and the arrow keys, I would be completely satisfied. So, I still have to have two remotes. My overall opinion. I would want more EQ options, and more power. The next model up (which is selling for $500 or a little less here) would be the perfect receiver. But, I had a budget, and sticking to it gave me very pleasing results. I listen to a lot of different kinds of music, public radio, and watch DVD's. I love the iPod dock, even with the caveats. The iPod dock works way better than any car integration I have ever seen.EDIT: March 2010. This receiver is still going strong, and if I replace it, I would still look to Yamaha first. I purchased this over two years ago.

I was a Yamaha Fan for many years until I bought the RX-V461,sound quality is good, all round quality is good, one thing is lacking in this unit, YOU definately need the Manual, especially on the remote,It Took me 1 hr to set 5 FM stations, the remote needs some serious re-design

5Good receiver, for a great price
By Craig
This little Yamaha receiver replaced a more expensive Pioneer that started shorting out. I believe it to have superior sound quite sufficent to drive my Bose speakers and bring clarity and realism to my Plasma display in a 15 by 20 living room. It also sounds great with my Sacd cds, unlike the Pioneer that it replaced. I purchased it thru Amazon and Crutchfield which I highly recommend and which I would most certainly do again.

With an ability to duplicate studio quality sound on stage, the VX5 is known for its smooth and accurate frequency response, resistance to feedback and ability to handle very high SPLs without distortion. 5Studio Vocals, ...On The Road !
By Ron M
This mic is tailor-made for those of us who would like to tour with an AKG C12, Neumann TLM170 or Rode NT1-A, but (like nearly all of us) lack the funds for both the mics themselves and/or the feedback-preventing monitoring they'd require onstage, ...not to mention the impracticality of shielding such studio thoroughbreds from road-induced damage, along with the ugliness of their sheer bulk in front of a vocalist's face. The detailed, ribbon-like, "golden age of radio" naturalness of vocal bass from an Audix VX5 really is as good as that. Honestly. Truly. No exaggeration. If that weren't enough, its dual-layered wind-basket and rear porting allow pop-free "working" of proximity effect, although a "foamy" will be needed outdoors to allow roll-off free operation without wind rumbling into those rear ports. Then there's the shock of hearing one of these for the first time after fading down, removing anybody else's standard vocal mic and fading up an Audix VX5.First off, you'll need more input gain as (even with its "trombone or sax attenuator" switched out) it's quieter by about 10 dB or so.Then, ...look out !It's as though your vocals just leapt into the listeners' brains, by-passing all transducers and amplification. Open-mouthed FOH and monitor mixers shake their heads in disbelief. Band members now hear the vocal foldback as though the other mic had been receiving its sound from beneath a pile of laundry. Tech-heads will be wondering what multi-band magic processor has just been switched in......and...heaps more crystal-clear gain is available before the onset of feedback.Best of all, the VX5 costs about the same as any other vocal mic that approaches its level of roadworthy ruggedness. It appears indestructible with tamper-proof switches that seem built for eternity, the only clue to both its cheapness and its method of achieving total freedom from overload being slight residual self-noise.In over forty years of professional audio (mostly live and on location) I've found very few mics that also approach the Audix VX5's detailed and eminently workable response, regardless of price. To my mind, that makes it a genuine bargain.Be warned, ...lethal force will be required to deprive me of mine.

5Pretty Good Figure!
By Shawn A. Markham
This is my second Long Range figure so far, and I must say he isn't as bad as many are saying. He comes with a fairly decent amount of accessories and the new body scult is superb. If you want to get a new troop for your collection I would recommend this guy. If your child wants one, this would be the best figure to get him. Long Range is durable, lightweight, and unique. Enjoy!

5FANTASTIC LIGHTS

Indoors or out, these lights are BRIGHT, RESPONSIVE, PENEThttps://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAk_tTfrtGt9Caw3Cjg3SJitJKBdCaG1Dzwrm6GsLWee0B-LN23JY8ha5O3MAPhxa0exPGOoXAPFclITGfvoDtxaPO-wMwYkXfaZVvMht0HnG4K1EaqHUSUGch2d_VexggLl1H-QpP1PA/s1600/rating+4-5.png, and simply put, incredible. These are meant for main lights, the stars of the show. Fully DMX capable (though I use the master-slave setup), these lights are perfect for mobile DJ's.They are also incredibly reliable. I dropped one from 15 feet in the air (It did not fall off a light stand, its actually a long story...) and, while the lense cracked (which I fixed with special glue), all I had to do was replace the fuse and it worked as if nothing happend. So in short, if you want a light that will mesmerize the audience, GET THESE.GET THEM IN EVEN NUMBERS (ie dont get 1... either get 2 or 4)

By Shoefan
Great quality costume. Didn't like the headband, it looked cheap comparatively. Lace scarf can be used tucked into headband as a veil, though it looked odd. Came with fishnets too! The dress looked lovely on and the 3 tiered ruffles on the bottom is very dramatic. It all came in a nice zipped clear garment bag. Very nice overall.

4Worth the money
By J. Rosenthal
The workmanship and materials in this dress are much better than those I've seen on other princess costumes. It was worth the higher price tag. The fabric makes the dress substantial enough to be worn alone or with tights rather than over street clothes only, as other costumes are designed.I particularly like the shoulder design, based on an elastic strap as well as a regular leg-of-mutton sleeve. It allows a child to wear the dress over a range of clothing sizes without it falling off at the shoulders or becoming too tight in the upper arms. My daughter grows quickly and will still be able to play with this dress for a long time.As for kid appeal...it has the most bouffant, glittery skirt I've ever seen. Scarlett O'Hara would be thrilled. It's such a popular item at my house that, with only one, we have to hide it before dress-up time at play dates...otherwise it would be ripped apart like Cinderella's. My daughter would wear it every day if she could.Be warned, parents, that the glitter in the skirt has a tendency to sift out (and onto your carpets and furniture) as the child plays. It can be vacuumed, though.

5Beautiful Dress
By C. Ivey
My daughter had her heart set on a "blue princess dress" for her third birthday. She opened this dress first thing in the morning and wore it until she went to sleep that evening. She wore it while jumping in a bounce around and spilled lunch on it. I have washed it twice and it still looks new. I also like that it is long sleeved for winter/fall cold days. The only thing that I would change is the seam where the bodice is attached to the skirt. I would cover it with something soft because it is a little itchy.

4Perefect Traveling Companion!
By Robert K. Shiflet
Have travelled with many of my smaller drums, eventually landing on a frame drum due to size. But the frame drum is *negative* practice for most other hand drums. The REMO Tubanito is the perfect traveling partner and companion! It gives the feel of your *normal* hand drums without giving up much in the sound department. And drum head is about the size of most of what you could easily carry for travel. Fits well in all my carry on bags and easily is carried in a motorcycle saddle bag. WAHOO, thanks REMO!!

5Unbelievable!!
By J. Homan
I bought this wanting a portable conga. I own 2 big gon-bops congas, but they are not that much fun to lug around. I also play a pair of Pearl Primero congas at church. I set this up on a snare stand next to congas and was so delighted with the sound, I started using this more. Now, you have to play with it some to get the sounds you want, sometimes using your fingers more than your palm for deeper sounds. I was sold on the idea that congas and bongos must have real skin heads, but the sound coming from this head has totally changed my mind. It has much more volume than I would have imagined also.I don't know if this replaces real wood congas, but it has such a pretty distinct sound, that its worth buying as an add-on. And it really fits the bill as a good portable drum. You do need to buy a bag for it though. Remo sells a bag, and you can also use a snare drum gig bag for it-like a 6.5 by 14" would be roomy enough. If you want to play standing up, you are going to need a tall snare stand-those are normally designated as a concert snare stand because concert percussionists play standing up and kit drummers play seated.

5Remo travel size drum
By Kevin R. Daniels
I really like this drum. It is much louder than I imagined it would be, nearly as loud as most of the Remo hand drums. And when you insert the foam sound reducer, it is quiet enough to play in a hotel room or not bother your neighbors. Kinda similar to putting a thick towel over a conga/djembe head and playing. I actually like the sound this way. There is no deep bass with or without the damper, though. You can get decent tones and slaps, and if you use finger style (darabuka/tabla) you can make some interesting sounds. The newer Remo synthetic heads are better than the older ones. They also added something to the bottom of the head to take out the ringing sound and it is definitely an improvement. The feel of this drum is great! Better than any of my hand drums, and I own many. I also like that I'm able to put it in my Bodhran case, inside the Bodhran. It's not too heavy or awkward like some of the other brands with similar drums, and I think it would fit in most back-packs. This will be going with me all around the world as I travel.

5Fanstatic Little Pan
By C. Zimmerman
I received this as part of a set from my husband, who knew I'd been drooling over the Le Creuset lineup for years now. I was initially concerned that with the usable space at roughly 5 1/2" wide by 4" deep, it might be too small to be really useful but was quickly proven wrong - it's perfect for heating up a serving of soup or milk for hot chocolate. The lid fits snugly and the steam vent does what it's supposed to, no dripping water everywhere. Cleans up easily with soap and water, the handles are sturdy and stay cool, and the dual pour spouts are genius. Overall, this is a fantastic piece that should last approximately forever...I couldn't be more pleased.

5I use this saucepan every day!
By M. Metzl
This saucepan has been everything I hoped for. I cook oatmeal for breakfast almost every day, and I swear it tastes better cooked in this pan over my old stainless steel version! The saucepan cleans up well, and it's great for cooking small portions of rice, quinoa, oatmeal, etc.

5Another Great Value

Here's another great piece of cookware from Le Creuset. I love the size for a small pan, and the fact it has a steam vent in the lid. The Caribbean color is really pretty. I mix and match my Le Creuset colors. I also own a round French Oven in Flame , and a small soup pot in the Chestnut color. All look great together for a cool retro look. Amazon has the best prices, really unbeatable. You won't be sorry with paying more for this cookware.

5Beautiful drum with great sound
By Amilcar Collazo
I've been fan of the DW drums for a while but I can't afford one of their kits and, through them, I discovered their PDP brand. I bought my FS drumkit and I love it so I've been looking forward to expand the sound of my drum kit and with the 8" tom and this 16" floor tom my dream kit is complete! Great sound without breaking the bank!

4Not bad, but not Devastator either.
By J. Decelles
I used to have a complete Generation 2 Devestator set, and I was looking for something like that when I bought this toy at my local Walmart. At first it looked pretty great with vehicles that I kind of remembered from the oldschool toy but once I started playing with it I began to be dissapointed.First of all, Devastator was made up of 6 Construction vehicles, a Bulldozer, Crane, Dump Truck, Excavator, Cement Mixer and Front Loader. This toy only comes with 5 vehicles, and of the 5 two are cranes and two are Front Loaders. The last and largest is a Steam Shovel. This toy lacks the variety that original toy had, as well as misisng one character. When in vehicle modes, the toys are fairly sturdy. The Front Loaders are both pretty solid, and the Steamshovel is all right. The cranes are a bit floppy, the joints do not hold them in vehicle mode very well but they are not bad.In Singular robot modes, these toys are also pretty solid. Although because two of the robots are cranes and two are front loaders, there is not a lot of variation in the looks of the robots, aside from 2 being green and two being black. The Steamshovel character doesn't have a left hand, since his arm is made up of the Steamshovel bucket, but that is not a major issue, just an annoying design descision. My main issue with this toy is that when you combine the individual robots into the larger Devastator robot it is nearly imposible to move or pose the large robot without having an arm or a leg fall off. Each smaller robot forms and arm or a leg, and the Steamshovel robot becomes the chest and head of Devastator. Becuase each arm and leg has the same kind of connector any of the maller robots can become either an arm or a leg, which is really kind of cool, unfortunately the connectors that hold the smaller robots in place are kind of large hexagonal "nubs" that do not made very well with the holes in the smaller robots, which means that if you move the Devastator robot, they easily fall off. If you try to bend Devastator's leg at the knee (he has nicely joined knees) his leg will fall off. Overall the larger robot mode is very unstable.Another issue that was a little dissapointing is that according to the instructions sheet, one of the cranes forms a leg and foot, and one forms an arm. Whatever one you choose doesn't matter as they are both the same aside from color. To form the foot you have to attach the small robots "weapon" a kind of claw like thing, to the cab and to part of the crane hook. This makes for a somewhat unstable leg that easily looses "foot shape" which can cause the toy to fall over when displayed.Yet another thing that is a little dissapointing, and which the rest of the "Classics" transformers moved away from with their re-envisioning of older toys, was the reliance on accessories during transformations. The old Devastator toy had about a dozen small parts that came together to hold the large Devastator in robot mode. This toy does that to a similar but slightly lesser extent. For this toy you only need the accessories if you want your Devastator to have feet or hands. But it is still annoying trying to keep track of lots of small accessories since they do not store well on the toys, and if you lose them you can no longer transform the toy into Devastator. This toy is actually a re-color of a group of Transformers: Energon figures, also called the Constructicons, but who, when combined formed a character called COnstructicon Maximus. Only the Steamshovel is intelligent, with the other 4 robots being "drones", its easy to tell this is an Energon recolor, because this toy comes with a small Energon plug that plugs into the decepticon symbols found around the smaller robots.I gave this toy 4 out of 5 stars, despite all my complaints, because the smaller robots are all well made from quality plastics. And although the toys combined mode is flimsy, it is still a neat gimmick and is not really any more flimsy than the original toy. It would have been nice to have these technical problems fixed.

2Looking for the vintage one, don't think so...
By Luis Quesada Bolaños
"Are you looking for devastator as you remember him from the good old times?? well this is not the one you saw. bonecrusher and scrapper are the same only different color, long haul and high tower as well, and in the original each and everyone of the were diferent. and there were six instead of 5. so if you want something that will wake your inner child don't buy this one."

3Fansproject, hear our cries!!!
By Will and/or Caroline C.
If you're looking for G1 devastator... look elsewhere. First off everyone knows Devastator is made of 6 different constructicons, not 5. Secondly Hasbro has gotten lazy in these packs and pumped them out with 2 recolors of the same robots/vehicles twice over. Basically you're getting 5 robots and 3 different vehicles (the other 2 vehicles are just repaints of ones already included). Hasbro did it with this Devastator, they did it with Bruticus, and they did it with Superion. The individual figures themselves are pretty well done actually and are simple enough to transform between robot & vehicle without instructions. But we all know that everyone who bought this bought it for the combiner mode. Well, it looks like hell... no way around it. Pincers for hands, poor limb articulation. Don't get me wrong it looks a little better than the Bruticus, but that's not saying much.Hopefully Fansproject's latest Crossfire project is aimed at fixing this.Hasbro Bruticus vs. Fansproject Bruticus:[...]

Absolutely pleased with this product! I did not expect the high level of constuction and ease of play-ability. Very durable. The sound is nearly that of a full-size conga and is oh so portable. Just what I needed! Get yours now.

5Lund Interceptor for F-350
By Stephen McHale
Mounted this in the hood with no problems. I have had these in the past on my other vehicles. The interceptor is a great design, and of good quality. I would recommend having some alcohol wipes on hand, as I guess that they do not include those anymore to clean the hood where the adhesive mounted rubber "bumpers". Just take a note that these are such a soft compund, that they will show scratches very easily.
