2disappointing
By Martijn van Eijkelenborg
Although this book talks at length about many aspects of coursesetting, it seems that is (almost) never provides any actual practical information. It is filled with very broad statements telling the reader to be creative and thoughtful when setting a route. This is of course useful. And there are quite some tips about how to throw a competition. But there is not a single piece of information about the rather basic and much needed stuff such as, for instance, how to best clean grips or modules, how to stay safe while setting a long route, how to climb a leadclimb wall when there are no top ropes or easy routes available etc. Despite reading this book cover to cover, i am left with the impression of not having learned anything new.

5Fundamental
By Luis Falero
Whether you want to start setting, or become a better setter, you should read this book. All of the fundamentals of setting in one place. I found the essays at the end of the book particularly enlightening. No gym is complete without a copy of this book.

5A must for routesetters
By David Siegel
This is the only book on the topic, and it's very well done. I liked the interviews with routesetters. If you own a wall, you need this book.
