good deal
By ERICE
I just got back from a 5 night hunting trip using this cot for the first time. I'm over 6' and 210lbs, so here are my thoughts.Pros:very comfortableeasy set up (a little muscle is required, but simple to do)lightweightfairly compact when disassembled6'6" longnice and wideaffordableCons:overall construction might be a bit flimsy. I wouldn't feel confident if I was over 220lbs, and I can see where the frame might break after a couple of years of assembly/disassembly. Also I could see the canvas-like material getting stretched out and you ending up hitting the ground if you're a bigger person.that's all. It might not be the best overall quality, but it's very comfortable and so affordable. I recommend it over a lot of other more costly cots on the market. Buy with confidence if you're 200lbs or less.

Allagash AL Cot beats all others
By L. Cooper
I got this cot to spend a week camping out with my son's boy scout troop. Normally I just use a sleeping pad, but all the kids were in old style canvas tens with cots on pallet floors. I decided to spend the week in my own tent and got the cot to make sure I would sleep well.It turned out to be an excellent idea - although I was in a good clearing, the ground was rough. I would have had a very bad time if I had just relied on my sleeping pad.The cot is great - I bought the wide version to make sure I was comfortable and I was. The cot is very tight and firm. It is easy to setup, although you do need a little strength or leverge to fit the legs into the holes. This cot will be used whenever I am camping, but I haven't decided if i will drag it along on hikes. This a must for car camping and it was a good price.

Comfortable tent cot alternative.
By Craig A. Robertson
This is a great alternative to an air matress for tent camping from car or canoe. And it won't spring a leak. Construction seems pretty solid, but time will tell. The low profile and rounded legs are well suited to tent use. This cot is lighter and somewhat softer (less taut) than the familiar wood rail Byer Allagash cot. But what I really notice is the extra 5 inches of width, which make it very comfortable. I am a light sleeper, but this cot with my self inflating pad on top makes camping a pleasant experience. The detachable legs are a plus, but it takes a little muscle to put them in place.
