Small but Powerful

I got this amp with my BC Rich KKV2 Handmade for a decent price of $899. I hooked it with a Boss GT-8 and then I was surprised. The sound was awesome. I then tried it without the multi-effects with the lead feature on and the knob set to METAL. Believe me, the sound was comparable to the sound from the GT-8. The reverb and the chorus was neat and matched up with my pedal. The acoustic sound was very good and it had no extra noise. I compared it with my other two amps: Crate GT65X and Marshall 101DFX and after playing some dream theater songs which contained variety of effects i was really surprised for this amp to be on par with the other two amps in terms of sound quality and not power.Pros:1) Roland's COSM modeled amps similar to the Boss GT pedals.2) Awesome digital effects3) 2 channel configuration with Power squeezer.(If you want more from this unit)4) Tuner was sometimes helpful.Cons1) Not so much to talk about. Only that the button and knob panel should have been on the front side rather than top. The cords get bent and you have to at the top for tuning the effects. That's sometimes trouble some.2) Could have had more power. 30W is decent but 45W could have been awesome for an amp for this size.Overall:Awesome amp. For practice and performing small gigs.COSM amps rock so dont worry if you don't have a multieffect pedal. This amp takes care of everything.

Rad Amp
By tim
This amp is a total bulldog. It was built for a guitarist who wants to throw their amp out of their 1991 honda accord, plug in and light a place up in a hurry, whether its a practice space, studio or show. This bad boy was waiting for me when I got home from work, I plugged in my frankenstein'd Strat-Squire-Rewired-Guitar-like-thing and was having a blast within a minute. The pre-fab'd amp models are really slick. They allow you to switch between a handful of settings that emulate some classic amp-sounds. I thought all of the models were distinct and tasteful. I was especially impressed with the "acoustic" setting. The effects are run off of two knobs. One dictates reverb, or delay and the other dictates phaser, flanger, tremelo and chorus. By turning these two knobs you control the frequency of your effects and the intensity of your delay effects. It should be noted that there is no depth-knob for your tremelo or flanger or phaser or chorus.Combining the amp-modeling feature with the effects will give you a huge range of sounds (which all seem VERY workable). And although you cannot stack the effects on top of eachother due to the two-knob system I found that the quality of these limited variables made up for the loss of complexity. To reiterate my initial point, this amp is a Bulldog, it is hardy, powerful, versatile and VERY easy to get good sounds out of. And once again, this amp is for a guitarist who doesnt have an interest in re-inventing the wheel or wasting 2 hours of their band's time soul-searching and finding the perfect tone or effect for a song...SO, if you find yourself hanging out at coffee shops and guitar stores clinging to brand names, shootin guitar stats and comparing your tone to a jazz musician (that you know no one else there has heard of) dont buy this amp. If you want to plug in and play and sound great...buy the freaking amp.

This amp is awesome I bought it to record with and it works great! Have plenty of amp options so I don't have to switch amps to get the sound I'm looking for.
