Product Description

Some distortion pedals are wussy. We're not judging them, we're just saying. And if you're sick of distortion pedals that fink out just before they really get mean and biting... the BOSS ML-2 deserves a place on your pedalboard. Dubbed the "Metal Core", the ML-2 is the heaviest of BOSS distortions with a nice sharp-edged attack for your crushing metal riffs. You'll love this one for all kinds of industrial, hard core, nu metal, grind core... all sorts of music. What's sweet is there's a LOW control that can get you a really heavy, low-frequency sound (think 7-string or dropped tuning style), and you can dial in that HIGH control to get a screaming, more metallic tone.

4Great metal distortion, but depends on your setup.
By Hydrotimmie08
I've used this pedal for years, its sturdy, and useful for any sort of hard rock to metal sounds. It is of course, as it says, a "metal core" pedal, it really doesn't have enough adjustment for much of anything else. It loses tone, and quality when the gain is turned down to far, and is just too crazy with the gain all the way up. The EQ is pretty handy, you can really shape the sound depending on the style and setting of the music. One major thing, it is good straight to the amp, BUT, if you want it crisp, clear, and with good tone, run it into a compressor or compressor/sustain pedal before the amp, it will sound ten times better. Also, an EQ pedal if you're extra picky. I do that on my pedalboard, and it really makes this pedal worth more.If you need good hard distortion, use this, if you need more varied distortion or overdrive, get a nice Fulltone or JHS Angry Charlie, or another from the many to choose from.

5Be Specific
By Paul Cecerre
Be specific in what you need with this pedal because heavy distortion (Metal) is about all this pedal can do. Thats a plus in my book as I tried this pedal out at a local store first and it sounded fantastic. I own several pedals and most are BOSS. I've been looking for something that was hard core enough for just rockin' out with and yet not so over the top it was ridiculous to try and control. I think I found it with this pedal. I can't possibly put into words what it sounds like, I highly recommend you try one out at a local store first. Be sure to test drive it alone, no other effects, just the pedal, guitar and amp. I am looking forward to breathing some new life into my old amp. Its well built, moderate controls for tailoring your sound a bit and then off you go to rock-land. My advice, if you haven't heard it (or played it), as with any guitar gear, stay away from it. Otherwise, I got it for over 10 bucks cheaper here on Amazon than at the local store. Pays to be willing to wait for delivery sometimes.

4ML2 Metal Core Distortion Pedal
By SoundSteeler
Difficult to set up correctly I think this distortion is overrated by many guitarist, I'll go with the Metal Zone and let this alone, although it is part of my pedal collection it needs a booster to works it best, the Metal Zone is still the best option, it can be configured better, those who dont like the 'Zone simply dont know how to use it IMHO.
