Outstanding studio tripod and excellent field equipment. Bare in mind this is not a cheap flimsy tripod that you would buy from discount stores for $30. If you looking for durability and stability...it's a great choice!

This is a really nice tripod; it works well with my spotting scope that I use for birding. It is very sturdy and offers a good range of motion.

I can only echo the comments of the previous viewer: this is a very well made tripod. Dont' confuse this tripod with the $30 models on this site. You get what you pay for and in this instance a bit more, making it an excellent value.This, however, is not a tripod to lug around all day in your backpack and those who need one should apply elsewhere.Update--June 2011--I see the price is now almost twice what I paid for it ($106 compared to the current price of $200) in February, not a terrfic value at this price. After several months with this product, I am convinced that if I was somehow able to lug it up a mountain and drop it off, it would survive. I would note for the multi-taskers amongst us that the pan head can also be used as a bottle opener.
