Product Description

Native lifeforms on Tatooine must adjust to the harsh desert conditions if they are to survive. The Tusken Raiders have carved a place for themselves in the barren Jundland Wastes, from which they emerge to raid colonist communities with deadly ferocity. Tusken Raiders are fierce desert savages that keep to themselves, and are a terrifying presence to the colonists that live on Tatooine. Swathed from head to toe in rags and robes, Tusken Raiders brandish their bladed clubs called gaderffii sticks with menacing skill. Also known as Sand People, these aggressive nomads dwell in the rocky Jundland Wastes of Tatooine and ride single file on banthas to conceal their numbers. Bantha are the domesticated animals used by Tusken Raiders as pack animals. Tuskens and banthas form strangely close bonds that almost seem telepathic to observers. Banthas feel this link just as strongly as are known to exhibit frenzied grieving when their Tusken master dies. A Tusken's identity and status are linked to his bantha, and the loss of his animal makes the Tusken an outcast from his community. Female Tusken Raiders tend to the camps, while the males are the hunters and fighters of their species. The females wear elaborate jeweled masks and carry their infants on their backs. To guard the camps, Tusken Raiders rely on domesticated massifs, which were probably brought to Tatooine from traders who traveled to Geonosis, the creatures' homeworld. This set of five movie-inspired Star Wars action figures from Hasbro includes a Tusken Raider with weapon, a Tusken Raider with massif, a Tusken Raider with child, and a Bantha figure. Each 3 3/4" inch figure includes accessories and nice articulation.

4Good try, but the hair gets in the way
By Enjolras
The Bantha is a very tough creature to make into a plastic figure, especially because of the shaggy hair. I thought Hasbro did a good job in this first try. However, I found too often that the hair covered the eyes. In fact, one of the eyes on mine fell off. Also, the body seems a bit too small for the head. I do hope Hasbro revisits the Bantha soon.
