Beautiful fixture, but one thing you might need to know

It really does look as nice as the photo and it is made of real stained glass pieces. Seems sturdy and well-made, and is packed securely in a thick formed styrofoam shell with foam rubber cushioning. In fact there were two serious gouges in the cardboard box that didn't make it anywhere near the glass. But there is one thing to be aware of, if you want to use compact fluorescent lamps, forget it. The sockets are the small christmas type, not standard light bulb size. They will take bulbs up to 60 watts, so it should be pretty bright, but you won't be able to save energy until somebody comes out with energy saving lamps that fit the smaller sockets. Hopefully someday soon 120V LED array lights will be available in small sockets.

Beautiful with a couple of annoyances

Packaging was great, the lamp itself is great-colors are beautiful. Installation was simple since we already had sconces wired and were just replacing them-so installation was a 15 minute job.I love the way the glass part fastens to the mounting bracket-- seems to be very sturdy.Annoyances-as the other reviewer noted, the only choice for lamps are incandescent.And, the finish on the metal scratches VERY easily- one tiny slip with a screwdriver and we have a scratch right to bare metal. The saving thing is that the metal backplate is not really visible once the light itself is installed.

I just love these lamps; well worth the extra money. Every time I walk in the house, I feel happy that I bought them. They are pieces of art in addition to adding wonderful lighting to the room. Even the shadow that is created is incredible due to the unusual shape. I'm probably going to buy another one to hang in the kitchen. Great colors, great design: BUY THEM. Oh wait, don't buy them, so I will be the only one who has them!!!!
