Excellent quality case

I own two McKlein briefcases, and they are both excellent products that have served me well for many years. So when I needed a new, larger bag/briefcase that rolled, I compared McKlein's offerings to that of the competition and decided to go with this bag for its substantial capacity, detachable nature, and familiar McKlein quality. After having used it for two weeks now, I can say that I am extremely impressed with the case.First, the storage capacity is enormous. I can fit my iPad Booq bag, laptop, cables, several books and myriad folders all in the interior main compartment and store a lot of ancillary items in the interior and the side zippered pockets, including dedicated spaces for pens, cell-phones, key-clip, etc. The case itself is made of very nice leather, and if past experience with this brand's bags is any indication, will be quite durable. There is ample interior padding to protect electronic equipment from rough handling of the case and provide some moisture protection as well. As mentioned, there are four zippered pockets overall, and the zippers are smooth and rugged. The case rolls very smoothly and fairly quietly. The wheels seem rugged, and the telescoping handle strikes me as more solidly built than that of many other similar products I have tried and owned. The frame itself is impressive. It is light yet extremely tough. There is a hidden compartment in the frame that stores a spare buckle (for the detachable system) and a zippered bag containing a weatherproof cover for the entire case. As for the detachable system itself, I find it to be extremely easy to use. It took me about 45 seconds to detach the case the first time I tried, without reading the instructions. The second attempt took less than 30 seconds. Detachment is a simple process: squeeze/unlock the four buckles (two on the back and two on the bottom) and lift the case out. Reattaching the case takes about the same time because it simply involves reversing the removal process. Once the case is separate from the frame, there is no sign or clue at all that it is part of a roller system because the buckle slots on the bag are cleverly integrated into the case so as to be nearly invisible. A professional would have no qualms walking into a meeting with this handsome, highly functional case. One more thing about the case itself: the combination locks seem to be of good quality and are easy to operate. They do not seem like the cheap locks often found on briefcases and laptop cases.Finally, like all McKlein products, this case carries a limited lifetime warranty covering materials and workmanship, though I expect it to provide many years of service. I unhesitantly recommend the McKlein Sheridan to anyone who wants a rugged yet stylish rolling case with a very large storage capacity and a cleverly-designed detachable system.

Well, I have the ONLY one of these I've ever seen.

It's a two piece. I wasn't sure if I knew that when I ordered. It's great, it's leather, it's professional and top of the line. But it also won't fit under airline seats unless you detach it from its base first. This is an awkward process that's difficult to accomplish in the limited space of a plane, and 4 flimsy plastic clips are all that separate one from the other. Your challenge is not losing those clips. As soon as you get anywhere you have to transition from a roller bag to a handle bag, get to work on that pronto so you can actually accomplish it - there is a learning curve. The base itself is all plastic and big. You can fit it all together. Put the bag under the seat in front of you and then slide the base under the bag so that it fits under the seat as well. Then you have to figure out how to maneuver to get it all out again to get your laptop out. Not easy but a hassle I'm willing to put up with for now - I got the best bag I could as far as I'm concerned so that's just what I have to do. It will carry up to 2 17 inch laptops with ease and still have plenty of room left over, by the way. I don't know any other bag that can do that - and still fit in an airplane without having to be checked and/or put in an overhead.

I purchased this for work. It's awesome, I love it. It fits two 17 inch laptops and two Shon Harris CISSP books in it and room for power adapter and a few ties above the books. It's nice and roomy. It is all black inside. There is no brown like in the other pictures. The wheels and back part of it is detachable which is nice. The leather is nice, I've hit it against so many things and it still looks new. I actually have a coworker that's gonna get it. I researched for a case for about 2 months, and got this one. It hasn't dissappointed.
