Works great

I've owned this cutter/bender for a couple of years now and I've been quite satisfied with it. I used it during the construction of my house for special parts of the heated floor slabs, for making concrete-and-glass countertops, and for making welded garden metalwork projects (lots of pics on my web site, see my profile for the link). It handles 3/8" rebar easily, 1/2" rebar with a little more effort but still works well. I only made about 20 cuts of 5/8" rebar and it took all my weight (~155 lb) hanging on the end of the handle to get it to cut, but it did the job. I wouldn't recommend it for cutting lots of 5/8" bar unless you've got more body weight to work with. Bending angles is a snap once you get the hang of it, and doesn't take much effort even with the 5/8" bar. I mounted my cutter to a 5-foot-long 1x8 pine board that I just place on the ground wherever I'm working, and the extra length underneath helps keep it stable.

This is a nice bender for the money. Much cheaper than other ones I could find and Good quality.
