The Xantrex C series charge controllers have years of proven service and are a great choice for larger systems. Their reliability and versatility have made them an industry standard. The controllers feature PWM (pulse width modulation), are field adjustable and will work as solar charge controller, DC load controller or as a battery diversion controller. Used extensively in micro hydro and wind generator applications where basic diversion control is needed. 12, 24Vdc, max. voltage 55Vdc, max. current 60 amps.
All models feature LED status light, displaying charging functions and battery state-of-charge.

Good product

I like this product, hasn't give me any problems at yet. One thing I wish I had the money for a MPPT, but this is fine for now. Good thing it can handle 60amps which for the amps and price this product is, is actually good $$.

I like this charge controller.it is working fine with my home made solar panel of 70 watts and charging a battery of 100 AH.there are many LED indications which gives us clue about the battery charge status.overall this is a nice product to have.

Xantrex is most noted for their INVERTERS - changing DC power into AC sine or pseudo-sine wave 110/220 volt output. Xantrex also makes a nice line of 12/24 volt high amperage chargers for those batteries that need a charge after providing 110VAC for beach parties, portable DJ work, and tailgate use, among other applications like power tool operation etc.Xantrex uses a switch mode charger which is A) efficient, B) Quiet, and C) gets the job done fast with 60 amps of charge current. Most car batery chargers in this price line are only 7 amps or so and take forever to recharge a deep cycle battery.One note, however, be sure that you have enough batteries in parallel to split the load amongst them. If you had for example, a 12V, 80AH, single cell battery - this charger would recharge at a rate of 0.8 C - not healthy for long lasting cells. If you parallel 10 ea of the same 80 amp hour batteries, you would only deliver 13.3333 Amp to each battery making a twice as fast as the 7 AH charger and maintain the efficiency. Plus this charger would not boil off the electrolyte - a common problem with wet cell storage. Besides, 10 x 80 amp hour batteries would make a great ballast for your boat!just dont try to pump 60 amps into a single battery and you'll be fine!
