A lightweight Olive and Apricot Kernel-based cleansing oil fortified with Kukui Nut Borage Seed and Rice Bran oils that gently liquefies sebum and oil-based debris from the skin's surface. The hydrophilic (water-loving) formula enables PreCleanse and oil-based debris to be readily rinsed away without leaving behind any greasy residue. Follow with prescribed Dermalogica Cleanser for a thorough double cleansing. Contains no artificial fragrance or color. Application - Dispense into dry hands. don't miss the precleanse step

I have been using Dermalogica Preclenase for a few years now and find it an important step in my facial care, especially when I wear makeup. Before Precleanse, I would wash my face and use toner after; there were always traces of makeup on the cotton. So I would wash and tone again. I tried other makeup removers but didn't like them. Enter Dermalogica Precleanse. First, a little goes a long way. I put about a dime sized amount in my palm, rub in my hands, and rub on my face - eyes, lips - all over. Next, I wet my hands, and rub all over the oil which completely emulsifies, taking with it all makeup and oil, even waterproof mascara and eyeliner. Finally, I splash with water, one pump of my facial cleanser, wash, rinse, and tone (completely clean cotton no matter how much or what type of makeup I've worn. It even works with stage makeup! While this product may seem a little pricey to some, Precleanse is well worth the cost. It works like a dream and a little goes a long way, so the bottle lasts most of the year. No matter what brand of makeup, cleanser/toner, or other facial product you're using, you need to give Precleanse a try if completely clean facial skin is what you want. I'm super happy to find that Amazon carries it - buying my second bottle this year (and I use it everyday).

Have to say, I'm usually very skeptical of skincare products and their claims. Also, the concept of a "pre-cleanse" sounded ridiculous to me, as I thought, "Why would I want to add another product to my regimen?" I was first given samples of it from the Dermalogica store by a salesgirl that noticed how dry and flaky my winter skin was.Well, after a few days of pre-cleanse (I've been using it for 6 months now), I must say I LOVE this product. The oil is so gentle, soothing, and effective- and completely removes ALL traces of make-up without harsh exfoliation or scrubbing. Other cleansers still left residue on my face (which if you scrub with a washcloth you will see), left my already dry skin drier and tighter.Pre-cleanse is amazing because it's an oil that completely dissolves everything, but then washes off clean when you add water without leaving your face oily at all. In fact, I've noticed it leaves my face feeling clean, hydrated, and glowing. A++.

It's an OK cleansing oil.

PreCleanse for me is a so-so cleansing oil. It cleanses thoroughly but Shu Uemura's cleansing oil has better quality and do the job much better.I'm OK with it, though.
