Product Description

The VXT monitors achieve a new level of precision with a visually striking enclosure design that is equally functional, providing low resonance, improved structural integrity and extended low-end, slotted ports for reduced port turbulence, plus a sleek curvature that provides excellent imaging characteristics and a wider sweet spot. The domed tweeter (comprised of true silk for fast transient response) and the new woofer design (with its stiffer, lighter cone that provides low distortion and extended low-end) both have vented formers to remove heat and reduce the effects of power compression, enabling these monitors to maintain their sonic signature. With uncompromising attention to detail that includes tamper resistant switch covers, integrated Omni Mount support and more, the VXT Series is an outstanding choice for a broad range of monitoring applications. 5KRK VXT 8 Review
By guitarrick1952
I purchased a pair of these in Dec 2010 and the VXT8 is everything I hoped for. My mixes really cut thru and revealed all my past mistakes in mixing on my old system! Plenty of bass (had 12 inch woofers in the past), but very controlled and not boomy, and the mids and highs sound great to me. Make sure to get good stands too, as these things are heavy. They are very loud too!!! Connected to my Alesis Masterlink, I can barely turn them up to an equivalent dial setting of 1.5 or 2. They totally rock and every CD I listen to now, seems to have a new element to it, even stuff I have listened to for 40 years or more. The clarity has helped me to figure out nuances in musical passages that have eluded me in the past. I am totally stoked over these babies. Make sure you break them in for 100 hours or so and you will notice how much smoother they become across the audio spectrum. I have been playing for over 45 years and recording for over 30 years so you can relax and take this review to the bank!!!

3Expected much better
By Obox
I've been using a pair of Rokit 8's for a few years now and I figured it would be time to upgrade to the bigger brother, the VXT8. Coming out of the package, everything looked good except for the woofer. Comparing the color to the Rokit 8's, the VXT8's color was very dull and just looked nasty. Setup is the same as the Rokits and was done within 5 minutes. All the setting on the back set to flat, I decided to play a few tracks I've listen to on every kind of sound system imaginable. Right away I was highly disappointed in the sound... I expected really crisp highs and deep lows but got everything except that. In fact the highs coming from the tweeter were almost non existent. Covering up the tweeter with my hand made almost no difference (as opposed to when covering the tweeter on my Rokit 8's, you can hear a huge difference). Not only that, compared to the Rokit 8's, the bass was also very weak and just sounded like there was no depth to it. With that I was just very disappointed. I was expecting the sound to be much better that the Rokit 8's, but it was just the opposite. I think I'll stick to my Rokit 8's or maybe look at a different brand when upgrading as these were a big disappointment. By the way, it wasn't a problem with my speakers either. I went to the nearest guitar center the next day and listened to the VXT8's there too and they sounded exactly the same. The guy there said he really wasn't a big fan of them at all and felt the same way I did about the sound. What's going on KRK?

5Fricken amazing ! Cheper elsewhere (see link below)

Do not buy these in a package...they are cheaper to buy individually. Also, make sure they match the frequency of the music that you want to mix/produce. These have a wide range but may not go as deep as the VXT6's.The link below has the best price.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OY7UVO/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000OY7UVO&linkCode=as2&tag=cts07-20
