Attractive, But Poorly Made

This is an attractive light fixture, which can be installed with the shades facing up or down. I had the fixture installed above the vanity in a bathroom with the shades facing down. I purchased this item through the website of a big box hardware store and it was drop shipped directly to my home. It arrived with two problems:First, there was a small chip in one of the three glass shades. This was promptly corrected when a replacement shade was also shipped to my home.The second problem is that the distance between the bottom edges of the first and second shades (starting from the left) is about three quarters of an inch more than the distance between the bottom edges of the second and third shades. This is caused by the fact that the socket on the right is askew and not at a 90 degree angle from the center bar, as is the case with the other two sockets. So, while the photo above shows a light fixture that is symmetrical, with the outside edges of the glass shades equidistant from one another, the fixture I received was not.I had the fixture installed by an electrician while he was doing other work in my house, so I can not offer any definitive comment on the ease of installation. The electrician, however, did not appear to have any particular problem with the installation. Unfortunately, I did not notice the problem with the askew socket until after the fixture was installed.The lights in this fixture do work, but if you are looking for a high quality uniformly made light fixture, I suggest you choose a different product.

Quite pleased!

Although I'm apprehensive to order things online (even in 2012 I'm still a see, touch, feel, shopper) I ordered this vanity light after not being able to find what I wanted in stores I visited. The expected delivery date was more than 2 weeks so imagine my surprise when it arrived the same week I ordered it! When I opened the box, I was happy to see it was exactly as it appeared in the picture. I had it installed and every time I walk into the room, I am happy with the decision I made to purchase it. It is exactly what I wanted!
