Very happy with what I get for the price, just get a different hat!

If you're willing to buy a different hat, you really have a good costume here.This InCharacter costume looks a whole lot more like the outfit in the Mask of Zorro and Legend of Zorro than the Rubies Zorro costume or anything else I could find online. The Rubies costume looks cheesy - nobody needs a big "Z" on the hat ... and the sword guard ... and the belt buckle ... to figure out you're Zorro! Lots of people came up to get their picture taken with me.The sleeves on the tunic were a bit short for me (I got the medium and have long arms). Certainly no one will notice if you have the gloves on. Not the softest material but I like the lace-up opening at the neck which adds to the "Zorro effect." The cape doesn't go down to my ankles like in the movie, but I decided that's a good thing - any longer and it would get in the way constantly. The chain at the neck also adds to the Zorro effect. The cape had lots of creases right out of the package. So I misted it with water, let it sit awhile spread out flat, then threw it in the dryer for a couple minutes and was happy. The "belt" is a piece of fabric that ties behind your back like an apron (no one sees that with the cape). For what you pay, I like it. I put it over a real belt and it works fine, and again looks closer to the Zorro movies than any other costume I've seen.The floppy velvety hat is truly awful - makes me think of something out of a Dr. Seuss book. Get a different hat! I bought a rigid felt hat which was a bit on the small side, however I managed to get it to work and it looked good. (I wear 7 & 3/8 so if you wear this or any larger, look for a different hat)http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HIGHIO/Finally, the included sword is weak, but I don't think it makes or breaks the costume like the hat does. It's basically the same little plastic rapier/sword I find in many costume stores.This outfit does not come with pants or boots. I already had some loose-fitting black pants from another costume that were ideal. I got these boots which I think look better than most of the costume "pirate" boots out there. They're something in between costume boots and cheap real boots. I wouldn't exactly wear them day after day on a construction worksite, but they look very good and are definitely a step above what you get for most costumes. I stuck extra insoles in them from old pairs of shoes.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0021290WY/Bottom line, if you add a good hat, a good sword, and good pants and boots to this costume, you can have something that looks pretty awesome. This costume set fills out everything else nicely and I don't think you'll find anything better at this price (I paid about eighty plus five shipping for this InCharacter costume, another twelve for the hat, and forty plus eleven shipping for the "Jedi" boots, so about a hundred fifty total - not counting pants or sword).
