3Good Vendor, bad PC
By Bmck
I bought this used model as a second unit. Shipping was good and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the PC had been upgraded with Vista, additional memory and a new wheel mouse. PC performed well for a while then the on-board video went out. Disappointed, I notified SUPERBUY-USA and Amazon. Vendor asked me to ship PC back and provided a full refund. Thus, good vendor, unforeseen bad PC. This kind of thing could happen to any vendor. I am thankful for SUPERBUY-USA for standing behind their product.

5Compaq scores highly on reliability using Vista Home Edition and an Asus motherboard and cpu cooler!
By Larry
Compaq wins on stability on this model using Vista Home Edition and an AMD Athlon64 3800+ CPU!This Asus motherboard A8M2N-LA on this Compaq PC combo is rock solid stable while running Vista Home Edition and I have had zero hardware problems while using this PC. It also has 3 PCI expansion card slots for future proofing to allow hardware upgrades. It also allows a PCI Express x16 video card upgrade, which I used to beef up the graphics for gaming, but the built in Invidia GeForce 6150 LE video chip is certainly no slouch on most games, either. Built-in High Definition 8 channel audio, too! And it supports 2 USB plugs on the front for easy access, and 2 USB on the back. I am using one now for a media server, and it works great! And you have XP Media Center preloaded on the second hard drive partition you can install and run for operating system flexibility, too! This model came with XP Media Center preloaded and as a backup on the second hard drive partition. However, when the PC was new, Compaq and Microsoft also offered the option to upgrade the software to Vista Home Edition, and any knowledgeable PC user jumped at the opportunity to get the free Vista upgrade, since Vista had just come out. The free Vista upgrade was also limited to only the particular Compaq product it was licensed to. And it was not transferable to any other PC. However, it also allowed a user to install a dual boot operating system, if they desired to. Which was a pretty cool software upgrade at the time!
