Tamrac 5769 Velocity 9x Pro Photo Sling Pack (Blue) Product Description:
- Internal Dimensions: 11 w x 6½ d x 13 h (28 x 16 x 33cm) External Dimensions: 13 w x 7 d x 15
Product Description
The Velocity 9x - Pro Sling Pack holds a pro digital or film SLR with a grip (such as Canon s EOS 1D Series or Nikon s D2 Series) and a 70-200mm zoom lens attached. Inside the main compartment, the camera with lens attached is suspended on two vertical, foam-padded dividers that are internally reinforced with rigid plastic. The Velocity 9x can be carried comfortably like a backpack, but when swung around to the front, the secure zippered Quick Flip Top opens away from the body for fast and convenient access to camera gear. A well-padded sling strap comfortably distributes the weight, but need not be removed to quickly access photo equipment. A Tuck-A-Way waist belt allows the Velocity 9x to be used comfortably during vigorous activities such as hiking or biking. The front pocket has organizer pockets inside to keep a mobile phone, PDA or photo accessories within easy reach. It also features Tamrac s US-patented Memory & Battery Management System that uses red flags to identify available memory cards and batteries from ones that are used up. A pocket inside the lid stores filters and lens caps. This sling pack is customizable with Tamrac s Modular Accessory System components.

Tamrac Velocity 9 carry all bag.
By Donald Lhamon
I underestimated the Tamrac Velocity 9 bag when I got it. The bag felt awkward compared to the other Tamrac bags that I was use to. I normally use the Digital Pro 9 which is a top down bag that i strapped accessory bags to on both sides and pretty much could only handle a camera with a lens, an alternative lens, and a flash. When I first got the bag I placed it back to back with my other one and with the accessory bags connected they were roughly the same size. Although after I placed the camera and lenses in it I realized that it was big enough for me to carry a Nikon D200 with vertical grip, Nikon 70-200 vr, Nikon 18-200 vr, Sb800 flash, Nikon 50 1.8, Sigma 28-70 2.8 and two 20 ounce Mountain Dews. Some background about myself. I work as a photographer at the biggest newspaper in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. As a photographer I do a lot of running around and standing and waiting. Sometimes I only spend short amounts of time in one LOCATION and others I spend what seems like days at an event. My concerns with the Velocity 9 bag was that I was now carrying more equipment than I had before and I didn t know how bad that was going to be on my back and shoulders because after 2 back to back football games my other bag left me sore. But the Velocity bag some how redistributes the weight unlike any other bag I have owned. Last weekend I photographed 3 back to back High School football games and the only thing the was sore was my feet. Should have wore more comfortable shoes.Things I like about the bag.Can carry a camera, 5 lenses, a flash, and still have room for some beverages.Has a big pocket in the back that can hold a lot of filters, cards, remotes, and other loose items.Shoulder strap doesn t cut into the shoulder even with a lot of items in the bag.Things that I don t like.Sometimes feel like a turtle because I under estimate how much it sticks out in the back. It s hard to move through a packed room without bumping into someone.

Velocity 9x Pro Sling Bag
By Bart Star
This is a very nice bag...it is not perfect (what bag is, right) but it works pretty well and is a very fast access bag, not 3 seconds, unless you where it low, which I do often. I previously had the old model but it was much harder to open quick due to the lid opening opposite from this model and I like the addition of a zipper. The bag rides closer than the Lowe Pro Slingshot 300 and is much more compact and doesn't twist fold when you remove the camera with lid unzipped like the Lowe Pro SS 300. It is hard to get to everything since things stack but it makes a great walk around bag. It is very well made and I like the fact that the waist belt tucks away when not in use. It holds a bunch of stuff and will hold a pro body with a 70-200/2.8 mounted. It is nice to port around by the excellent Tamrac top handle and unlike the the Lowe Pro can be slung over just one shoulder. I like it's compact dimensions. Wish it had a rain cover but a garbage bag works in a pinch. Overall the bag does as claimed...wear it low and loose and you can be ready to shoot in seconds...It's a keeper!

Great camera bag with lots of room!
By Kevin
I bought this bag after doing a lot of research and reading all of the reviews. Despite the negative reviews I bought the bag any way. I needed a bag that would allow me to carry my Canon XTi with battery grip, 70-300mm lens with hood, 28-135mm with hood (attached to the body), 50mm, 580EX flash, extra batteries for the camera and flash, memory cards, and various other small items. I also wanted a bag that would allow me to access the bag's contents without putting the bag down. This bag has fulfilled all of my needs!!! My previous bag was a backpack style bag (which I love) where I could actually fit more in it but I could not access the bag's content's without putting the bag down. With the Tamrac Velocity 9x Sling Pack, I can VERY easily and quickly transition the bag from my back to my side and access the contents. It doesn't take 3 seconds to make the back to front transition as advertised...it takes me about 5 seconds. I am able to walk around and maneuver through crowded areas without bumping everything and everyone. This is the best carry around bag that I have tried.
