Only the best

First of all, be forewarned that this is Giottos' largest ball head. It is large and heavy. But, that is exactly what I was looking for. I reviewed other ball heads manufactured by others - some were more expensive and some were less expensive, but I kept coming back to Giottos. This is the first "high quality" ball head I have purchased. My amateur photography equipment had been limited to Slik in the past. Slik makes good products, but this Giottos is above and beyond. It's construction is remarkable - I know it will be all that I need. It is rugged...it is beautiful. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. I am sold on Giottos and will make them my manufacturer of choice when it comes to photography equipment.

For many years I had been planning to purchase a "decent" tripod and ballhead to replace two tripods that I have owned for decades. Both of my existing tripods are very lightweight and flimsy and I always fear that the slightest bump may send my expensive equipment crashing to the ground.I received the MH3300-658 along with a Giottos MTL9271B Classic 3-Section Aluminum Tripod with Flip Leg Locks. I had planned on either a Really Right Stuff or a Markins ballhead, but the Giottos was well under half the price of the others and I had heard good things about it.So far, after one very long day at a wedding, I am happy to say that I am very pleased with this purchase. The MH3300 is HUGE! It is much larger and heavier than I thought it would be, but this is OK with me because it is also very smooth. The machining is excellent with no burrs or sharp edges. The knobs are much larger than I thought they would be and are very easy to adjust. The friction control works flawlessly, even with my 70-200mm f/2.8 attached to the camera body.I could describe more, but I guess that the main points are that it is larger and heavier than I had thought and that it is very strong, very smooth to operate and very well machined. I am very pleasantly surprised at the quality I bought for much less than I had planned on spending.

This item is very well made and handles up to 30 kg (66 lbs.) Incredibly stable for my telephoto DSLR and movie camera. Ball head, bubble level, 658 Camera mount, 360 deg panoramic marking, more, gave me all I needed.
