The new Monarch Riflescope Series features Monarch Eye Box Technology, a huge ocular with a generous field of view that provides 4-times magnification zoom range and four inches of constant eye relief. Quick-focus eyepiece allows for a crisp, detailed sight picture. Magnification reference numbers are viewable from the shooter's position thanks to Smooth Zoom Control. Standard on all Long Range Monarch riflescopes, Nikon's easy-to reach dial allows you to quickly focus from a shooting position. Enhanced Mount Ring Spacing provides mounting to virtually any rifle action regardless of caliber, even magnum length actions. (2.5-10x50 may require extension rings in some cases). Ultra ClearCoat Optical System is the basis of the new Monarch scope. It consists of superfine Eco-Glass lens glass and Nikon's proprietary anti-reflection multi-coating technology that boost light transmission up to its theoretical maximum - 95% One-Piece Main Body Tubes. The scope is milled from aircraft-grade aluminum for minimum weight and maximum strength and durability, and is sunshade adaptable. Monarch Riflescopes are waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof. New Monarch 5-20x44 and 6-24x50 models feature Interchangeable Turret Technology with 1/8-MOA adjustments and include low profile adjustments w/caps, target-style windage and elevation adjustment knobs and caps. Monarch 5-20x44 and 6-24x50 models include a sunshade.

Nikon Monarch Riflescope

I have used several scopes Leupold, Redfield, Burris and NONE have matched this scope for its clairity and functionality. NIKON GLASS is superior. I have tested it in extremely hot conditions and the rain and so far no problems with fogging. I love varmit shooting and this scope is PERFECT for that. I priced this scope in several places and as you can see, I purchased it here. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Excellent compromise for Varmit Gun

I bought my first .223 rifle and after much research, debate, and thought finally opted for this scope from Amazon which was $100 less than other websites. I'm very happy with my decision. My criteria was to see a 22 caliber hole at 100 yards from a benchrest and yet light enough to shoot offhand and carry around. This is the best compromise of those requirements. Very few other scopes can do that. Yes, I can see 22 cal holes at 100 yards if the light is good even in the black. In bad light I have a difficult time seeing the bullet holes in the black. White is ok. I now print out my own targets on bright white paper with less black for the bullseye. The focus is very easy. I don't see a need for a large wheel. The yardage on the SF seems to be off so you really can't use it as a rangefinder without recalibration. All the clicks are crisp and the caps keep everything in place. I have not tried either of the two sets of dials that came with the scope yet as the smaller ones seem to work fine. The clarity is excellent in good light. I can easily see the 10 ring at 100 yards. At low light it's a little dark at 20 power but I expected that. Backing off on the power fixes that problem. If I were primarily benchrest shooting I would get a larger scope like the 8-32 just so I could see the bullet holes at 200 yards. Nikoplex works fine. Perhaps a dot would be better for targets.

Hunter, shooting enthusiast

i researched many scopes before buying this Nikon.I did side by side comparisons in particular with Leupold at Cabelas and Gander mountain and the level of quality and clarity for the money made this purchase a no brainer. In my opinion Nikon offers the most for the least.Thier optics are crisp and right out of the box at 250 yards I had no issues with parallax.Scope is mounted on a Savage 243.
